Question on Priming Vehicles

I've used just ordinary flat white rattle can paint. Would suggest a quick bath with dish washing liquid and 24 hours to dry before spraying just to make sure the mold release agent is gone.

I just use automotive primer from halfords works well and is highly forgiving.

Need to be careful with that stuff. I've used some pretty low grade auto primer in the past that pretty much removed all fine detail on some models. Get what you pay for I guess.

I would concur with that, but know of others who use the 'halfords' method and seem to get on with it OK?

I've tried Vallejo spray primers, but found them to obscure detail a bit too easily. Currently I'm using the G-Dub black spray, it works fairly well for both resin and pewter (after washing).
