Hasta Class Battlecruisers

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing that the carrier might be allowed to take 2 Battle Cruiser's as its escorts that way they at least complement the Carrier's wing's with their own..

Like I said Geussing... but something to look forward too if true  ;)

The tokens are given in that number since it gives you 1 large and small for each ship so if you play them both seperately then you can have each one carrying 2 squadrons.

I would think that the numbers are given so that you have the tokens to field, for example, Bombers and Shuttles (Both large SRS tokens) or Fighters and Interceptors. (Both small SRS tokens)

You mean the Backwards Utilization Tracking Torpedo?

Or B.U.T.T missiles for short?   :P

Yes....those. lol. I forgot what they were called.

That game was amazing. I miss having such amazing humor in such an epic game...nothing in the last decade really matches it.

So the stats have been released, what are we all thinking? Personally I see them as definitely being a potential tier 1 in patrol fleets. A squadron is a bit pricier than the battleship how I run it, but bringing wings to the table is always useful and being that I have always found the carrier to be a bit lacking, I think this could really help.

In terms of hardpoints and upgrades, I can see each and every hardpoint being useful at some point depending on which nation you play against. I think weapon shielding is going to be an essential upgrade, I have always felt that for only 10 points it is not worth not taking it.

Bigger batteries will come in really handy against the pesky Aquans and it is nice to see our signature experienced engineers for free.

Overall I think it is pretty versatile for the points and looks to be quite effective in small games. Also good for denying battlelog points, as a squadron can be more expensive than a battleship and with 12 hull points combined, a bit more survivable but still only providing 6 points. Can also be taken singly with frigate escorts as a cheap but pretty good tier 1 option, allowing you to maximise your mediums on the field, and only giving 5 battlelog points.

I think the Hasta is actually a strong contender at any point values.

Consider that a normal Falx will generally buy the weapon shielding option and the extra shield, putting it at 205pts.  Not unreasonable, and most builds I'd run would put that number at 215-225 with extra movement and reinforced sides.

A Hasta with wings bought is 130pts.  Now add in the shield and weapon shielding, and we're looking at a fully equipped 150pts combat vessel with support.  Throw two more reapers at it for BB level of AD and you're looking at a faster moving Falx for 200pts even, but with lower DR/CR overall.  Fair trade, considering the utility of wings, speed, and the kinetic FF.

Now, at games above that, that's where you ditch the frigates and go balls out with a pair, clocking in at 300pts, which is what you'd spend on the DN anyways.  Less durable, but faster, hits as hard, has wings for support, and throws a full squadron of wings in as well.  Alternatively, you could bring two of them seperately with the frigate accompaniment at 400pts.

The options are great.  I'm excited.  This is the first Tier 1 I'm excited about.

It would have taken me a few years to post what you posted in the quote above.   :D

Well done sir!

Probably better when using the Hasta in squadron of 2.

Quick launch will grant extra move by deploying your flights at the limit of the command distance instead of staying close to the stand of the models.

Then make your attack run. All in the same round.

You know, it's sad but I just read that out loud in the voice of the Urquan ships from star control.

"Launch fighters!"

Zak

Sure, but the Urquan are arachnids. You should be thinking of the Relthoza.

One thing that is pretty cool about these is that they have the same engine blocks as the new cruisers and battleship. I am thinking of swapping the blocks from these guys with the blocks from the battleship just for kicks.

1- It's the same effect to be able to launch them right away.

2- It's not the same effect for positionning them on the table.

 a) Just split berth: you need to put them aside of the stand of the carrier that launch them

With quick launch; you can put your flights at the limit distance of the command distance of the carrier.

* Difference: You gain in 'move' with quick launch.
