Official Zenian League Thread: Rense System Navy

Seriously, what's up with these things? They have the exact same stats as Directorate Frigates, but can go up to 4 per squadron. However if a Directorate player wants to use them to gain some sustainable firepower in their small class choices, they lose Biohazard Ammo which is the one niche they have that makes them fun to play...

That seems to be the point of some of the Alliance ships. Better than standard ships, but they come with the restrictive build rules (weird percentage changes and the loss of certain core fleet MARs) if you want to include them.

Another point is that two frigates that have the same stats might have slightly different effectiveness based on the other models the fleet is composed of. So in fact the Directiorate stat line could still be better in a directiorate fleet because the whole fleet wants to get in between the enemies while in a zenian fleet you have quite a few models that want to stay back.

Yeah, you do have to look at things like how the fleets play.

Anyway, complaining that RSN frigates are a slap in the face of Directorate players is like saying that Sorylian frigates are a slap in the face of Aquan players. Yeah, one is straight up better than the other, but that's because the fleets have different strengths.

Don't forget that RSN destroyers are a slap in the face to Dindrenzi players!

In all serous though it is how the fleet works as a whole. some of the alliance ships will work better with other parent fleets

what is the strength of Dindrenzi as compared to the RSN because from where I sit the Din basically just look inferior.

I play a directorate fleet with maximized number of frigate squadrons, and I dont really want another frigate in each squadron. 2 AD dices more at RB2 in each frigate squadron is not as powerful as to have 2 more activations in a 1000 points fleet.

The ability to hit out to RB4 with your primary weapons?

A full squadron can put out 4AD linked at RB4. That's enough to almost guarantee a point of damage on an enemy frigate, at a range it can't hit back from (Terran frigates notwithstanding). Dindrenzi frigates are also 2" faster than RSN frigates.

No, they don't have Bio ammo, that would make them incredible!

Also don't forget their fleet tactics score is better!

You are correct the Model Assigned rules are for capital class ships. Take a look at the updated Combined Ship Stat Cards on our web page (mouse over Resources then click Combined Ship Stat Cards) It has all the ships and their associated MARs.
