I just let the community decide, because in the rulebook the thin section of the model seems to be the front, but in the store, seems to be the opposite one

So what do you prefer on the ship to be the "bow" ? Let's see which is the most acccepted choice ;)

Considering the design of the rest of the fleet the thicker end of the ship should be the rear with the engine whilst the thinner section the front. That said they do have an oddly identical looking rear and front which makes it possible for either end to be the engine - the fact that this isn't clearly shown on the model nor in the painted versions suggests that possibly they had an old rule and design concept of having a forward engine for rapid reversing via having a forward engine instead of a weapon mount.

From that difficult-to-see angle, I think the end (circular grey thing sticking out) of the long thin part is a bit longer then what is directly showing on the "fat'' end.

Can't say for sure, as I've never seen those models in reallife, but therefore, I think the thin part is front.

Longer bit gives more of a gun feeling, while the shorter bit gives an engine feeling.

If both ends are identical however, Just paint 1 side with engine-glow, other side with exactly the same looking plasma-cannon-glow. :D

Going by what Spartan has published regarding this model up to now I think the “fat” end is meant to be the prow, making it a but-ugly miniature in my honest opinion.

So IFF I ever get some of these I will mount them with the slender end as the prow, and ad something to the fat end to make it look more like an exhaust.

Maybe a thin plastic ring like I did with this one:

Well, the Aquan image in v1,5 rulebook had the frigates flying backwards, and oroshans fly differently in every damn pic... ;) In other pics, I've seenthem flying the "fat" side to the front, so it's still not...decisive.
