Official Kurak Alliance Thread: Veydreth

Recommended Posts

I find that scoring both surfaces before I glue them together yields a tougher bond.  Works with both resin to resin and resin to pewter.  Just use your hobby knife and do a cross hatch on both sides you want to glue.

Great video D6!  The cruisers look very impressive, though a pile of parts to assemble.

For resin like this, I use just a little bit of fine grade sand paper. If a model continues to break on me then I resort to pinning (which I hate doing...).  Next video on them I will assemble and airbrush starting with the patrol fleet. Once painted I'm shooting for a battle report vs. Tarakians.

I've personally upgraded to a Loctite 'Professional Liquid Super Glue' it's a 20 gram bottle where most others are what... 4 or maybe 7 grams at most?

I love this stuff. Even if a bottle goes bad I generally get more value than the smaller bottles. I have noticed it takes slightly longer to set but when assembling hundreds of models at a time it's great.

At this point, I'd probably say that it has just been missed rather than deliberate. Either that, or just no one besides Veydreth can fly with Veydreth, and they didn't want to use any of their other units to Escort it.

I received a response back from Mr. Spartan himself.

"At the time we created those stats, which was over a year and a half ago now, I recall that my opinion was that due to the level of PD and HP of the vessel, and the Veydreth background text, which would have most Kurak members not being that keen to accompany them, and they don’t really have much of a philosophy of defence in this way. So intentional, not an error.

Best regards,

Spartan Neil"

This does make since with the background fluff. Maybe some day they will allow some type of accompaniment. I think cruisers would make them to powerful. The Reaver Corvetts could possibly work. Their guns don't match well, but the AP does. The corvetts would be more like assault escorts.

True. A Beam Corvette with a HE or Biohazard and a (relatively) high AP or Mn option would be good.

Question on modeling rules. The veydreth cruisers can be made into heavy or assault cruisers. However there is nothing I can find to tell which is which. Anyone know?

More info: I come from the warmachine crowd which is relatively strict on models/conversions. Maybe its different here.

Hmmm ok well facebook has been both informative and not.

http://shop.spartangames.co.uk/articles.asp?ID=250

and

http://shop.spartangames.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=FAI1003

Lists the carnivore and stalker separately, with pictures.

However someone posted me a copy of the back of the box which has the components listed the complete opposite to the store images. :(
