I really hope that these get a few more Prussian Empire units in the upcoming update, to help add a bit of variety to the army list.

As it stands now, they are quite a boring faction to wrote a list for. Its either robots, or.......robots. That's just it. More and more robots.

That's not to say that robots are boring, but it makes it really hard to build a list when some of the choices just aren't your cup of tea.....like the Zorestor, or Recke, or Ritter.

For myself, I don't have those models, and only have 1 squad of the Fausts. But I have plenty of the other flyers and plenty of Prussian tanks that could bulk my army out, but I cant use them as a full Teutonic Order force. Hell the Speerwurf was a Teutonic Order built airship. Why is it not available to these guys??

I also hope these guys get some standardised MARs, like Die Hard Attitude, or Crushing Impact, Terrifying and Hull Breaker on all Robot models to remove them from the models stats section.

Or Terror Tactics (1) to all robot units....something like that.

Also, I would like to see the robots being shifted totally and completely to the Teutonic Order and removed from the Prussian Empire Orbat. Gamewise, it will mot make any difference, as they are a close ally of Prussia and ignore the 40% non-core penalty. I just think its pointless for the same models to be in both Orbats. I mean what's the point in having the Teutonic Order Orbat if most of the models in it can be taken by Prussia regardless?

Well, the majority of the Alliance Factions are still awaiting an update in the near future, and what box sets would you even give them? Only things I can think to add is maybe another blimp of some kind (although no idea how to make it unique) and maybe another, angrier Medium Robot...

I'm saying this as someone with a rather large Giant Robot Army of Doom too. :P

I wouldn't mind with the Order having flying robots since they pretty much have the ground forces already set up. - especially Tiny robots like the Fausts(?) having an "air cadre" element to them so that they can move sorta fast, and assault flyers.

Even something to counter a John Henry would be very nice to see.

I'll be honest and say that I don't have models for the Order, but could we perhaps tweak how the infantry units/tokens are used and make them...special some how - Like DHA or Robotic assault (or whatever robots get as special rules)

Here is my list of "would like" for the Teutonic Order:

Give the Teutonic Order a new special weapon and special rules:

As it stands they are nothing more than a carbon copy of the Prussian Empire, but have less units to choose from and three models to call their own.

Teslas and Speerschleuders can still be the secondary weapons throughout the army, but they need something

Give the Saint Micheal back its Corrosive cannon. Again, makes it stand out from the Metzger and gives them another Special weapon of sorts. (Why did this not get a special model like the other Storm of Steel General models? All it needed was new arms and it was set)

Give the Recke the option to bring Infantry. That version could be classed as the Ausf-A, while the Robot carrier would be the Ausf-B.

Get access to the Speerwurf and Jager again, with the return of the x2 Speerwurf and x3 Jager Specialist Squadron.

Make Rugged Construction (1) standard on all Robot models and capitals

Make Specialised Defenses (2) standard on all capital models.

Maybe, and I stress maybe, give them Terrifying on all models for Boarding. Not just the robots.

And 360 degree movement on everything on land. But that is happening anyway.

This is my list of wants. I don't think they are too out there.

On the new secondary weapon, what would it be? Also, tesla and speerschleuder's are more STO than Prussian, as the STO was responsible for their development if memory serves...

I'm not that phased about Corrosive, and like the St Michael where it is. All that delicious lightning-harpoonery and the bucket o' generators make it a very different option from the Metzger.

I agree having an Infantry Recke (full of Teutonic Armsmen? :D ) would be awesome, and would like the return of Jagers and Speerwurfs, again because the Speerwurf was initially developed by the STO. Not so sure about the Jager+Speerwurf unit though... I recall their being a reason it was removed... :P

I'd also like to see Rugged Construction (1) as standard, and maybe the Specialised Defences (1 or 2) too. Terrifying on ALL models might be a bit excessive, but on stuff like the Infantry, Robots, and some other select models it might be a good idea. Maybe trade Specialised Defences for it...?

Hmm, I was actually thinking of the tectonic order having naval and aerial land lease forces from Prussia, but their crew are elite and have the terror tactics rules.

This is to represent the Knights hitching a ride from those ships and their fearsome combat abilities

@Corrupted,

Secondary weapon: Yes they were, which is why I'm happy with them keeping it. But, as said, they and the Prussian Empire are just a carbon copy of each other....only with different commodore abilities. Two factions with the same special weaponry and special rules is not what I call exciting.

The only other difference between them is the STO use mostly robots. That is not enough of a difference in afraid.

Also, the STO may have been the developers of the Tesla Weapons, but do you really think they would stop there?? The Prussian Empires primary R&D group invents a single special weapon and decides to stop there??

No, they need something much more terrifying to show that there is a difference between them and the PE, other than Robots.

St. Micheal: I disagree. There is enough Harpoon weapons in the list that giving it back its corrosive cannons wouldn't make a difference to the overall playability of the force and its not that different to the Metzger. 25pts more expensive maybe, but it doesn't play very differently to it.

Jagers + Speerwurf: I played that squadron a couple of times. It never felt very powerful, especially since it needed to get to RB1 to be fully effective as the Jager had not RB2 (as far as I recall anyway)

Also, I am still in favour of removing the Hochmeister and Metzger models from the Prussian Empire Orbat.

Its not like a player couldn't use them with the Prussian Empire anyway due to the close allies rules.

It just feels stupid, to me that Spartan have done this. No other Core nation has the ability to take models that belong to their dominions as standard in their Orbat. If the KoB want to bring an Australian battleship they have to go the Allies route.

Why should the PE get automatic access to the largest Robots the STO have to offer??

It makes no sense and dilutes the STO experience.

Hell, even the single Teutonic Order boxset is in the PE section of the Shop instead of the allies part.

Didn't say it was forgotten. Some aspects I think are just naff, as in my last post about the PE getting the big robots.

The other things are just what I would like to see.

Any chance you could tell us when to expect this blog post?? Even just an estimate?? Id really be interested to read it

Didn't the Teutonic Order and the Prussian Empire sign a Cooperation Pact? I'm quoting from the shop here:

"The Scandinavian Teutonic Order is infamous around the world for its Battle Robots, and are generally accepted as the leaders in the development and research of these creations. But up until now the small territory has never really had the production capacity to take their creations to the next level. Following the Full Cooperation Pact signed between the Prussian Empire and the Teutonic Order in late 1871, their dreams of conquest finally seem to be within their grasp! The Hochmeister Dreadnought Battle Robot marks the pinnacle of the new alliance, marrying the industrial capability of the Prussian Empire with the ingenious engineers and inventors of the Teutonic Orders to create a true monster in the field of Battle Robot development."

If you'd extend that, I'm tempted to say that the relationship between the Teutonic Order and the Prussian Empire is a lot more tight-knit than that of say the Indian Raj and the Kingdom of Brittania. The Emperor doesn't use Teutonic Knights as his personal attachés for nothing!
