" but what I can tell you is that the Ottoman Empire will be the first to see amends with modifications planned to how we package models. It will see some new models designed and we are confident that our adjustments will make this already appealing fleet even more fun to game with. "

I'm pretty sure that counts as a great victory for the ottomans! ticker tape parade! :D

I say that what was the jap list :P

There was much rejoicing and the sultan was extremely pleased to write "D1" next to "L4" on the scoreboard at the sublime porte.

I'll post three batreps on Saturday, hopefully. Two horrendous losses (EIMC and KoB with submarines) and this draw.

All of this is excellent. Infantry squadrons! :D

I am not ungrateful for it. This is a much needed breath of fresh air!

(...But 18mo wasnt long enough to design anything new?)

There are some things in the process of being tested. This update is to get the current models up to scratch.

I like the changes - thanks Spartan!, the only thing that seems missing is more dice! (Everyone wants more dice) although it's nice to see that we've become a bit cheaper, a bit tougher and with a sensible readjustment to the zuhafs and mizraks.

Nice to see the changes to the sadrazam - the GNE gen looks interesting, especially if you not running mines. The new commodore doctrine looks like it could have its uses.

I also appreciate that the rules for the Sinops SAS have been tidied up.

I'll be interested to see which plays better between the stoic separatists and the aggressive traditionalists. I've never really done aggressive boarding with ottomans, but I'll double op on fettahs and give it a whirl.

Hope some land models aren't too far away, (and more dice ;p)

I'm cautiously optimistic about these changes; cheaper and more resilient ships are pretty solid.

1. Reworking the points on a few of my fleet lists, the changes have saved me 60 points in my 1k list and 80 in my 1250 list. The discount to the Fettahs is great! Now what to do with those points...

2. The GNE generator on the Sadrazam is going to be mostly used if you've got a pair of Sadrazam, or a penchant for aggressive boarding with the Fettahs. I guess this is going to be where the Traditionalists differ from the Separatists?

3.Attaching Mizraks to the Dread and battleship is going to crank those broadsides up to some respectable levels. With a 3 Mizraks, it's 22/18/13/2 on the Kanuni's broadside, and 18/15/11/6 on the Sadrazam, plus a 15/12 Volley Gun shot. You lose Sustained fire on the broadsides, but those are some good numbers regardless.

Can't wait to see the differences in play between the two sides too!

Fettahs are now brilliant. Still squishy, but brilliant.

New doctrine is good.

New ranges on mine gens is good.

I wonder what the total points difference between an ottoman list pre-update and an identical list post update would be.

I also think there is some potential for a coa-ottoman mine-based list...

I'm not so taken by the updates, from a glance, 2 sinops struggle to match the firepower of 1 canda, the new mk3 cf battleship can reach 20+ dice in rb2, which is amazing, yet the sadrazam still sitting there with pathetic dice pools, and the ottomans are still throttled by cloud generator activation....Unless I'm missing something :)

I agree with you there...I am pleased we got a boost, but it's mainly to defences and cost so I'll have more ships, that last longer...but still don't sink many enemies :D

I'm curious about the Tiger is squadron. What's the thinking behind it?

I think this is so that people can use that extra fettah that comes in the box, since 2.0 has a max squadron size of 3 for cruisers.
