myth28 Posted November 1, 2012 Report Share Posted November 1, 2012 I got a bit carried away with the Ruskies (once I'd got over Hurricane Season) and now have a few more of them than I need (We seriously need an embarrassed smiley) I've got: 3 Dreadnoughts 3 Carriers 4 Naval box sets (40 Frigates, 40 tfts, 12 Cruisers, 8 Bombers and 4 Battleships) 3 additional Cruisers 6 Gunships 9 Destroyers 3 small flyers 1 large flyer 1 Bunker and 2 weeks off work to get some painting done ok 4o frigates may be a tad excessive especially the novgorod ! how do you know which way any of them are pointing ? Ah...lucky for me my partner likes Dystopian Wars and plays as well...and when I ask nicely she agrees to do things like let me play obscene scale games over a number of days... if infantry are as expensive as they sound in points...it very well may be that I catch up shortly though. I only have 3000pts FSA Naval/Air 2000 pts RoF Naval/Air 2000 pts RoF Land (not painted yet) 1500 pts RC Naval I still feel quite sane (ish). For any one wanting a very large game we (Deeside Defenders Wargames club) have access to an ideal venue at the Broughton Wings Sports and Social Club near Chester. I recently played a 3000point game over 2 days. With 5 players per side with 2000 points each we could manage a 10000 point game 6 to 8 turn game. A true clash of the alliances. Redmick Posted November 2, 2012 Report Share Posted November 2, 2012 I have to say that this thread suits me fine - I have always been utterly useless at resisting the urge to buy more minis than anyone else. Having collected over 16K of Orks, most of this in boyz, 6K Tyranids, 6K Necrons and about 5K Tau Empire, about 100 board games of varying types, and numerous role-play supplements for CoC, 40K role-play, many Malifaux models and Wings of War stuff - it stood to reason that I didn't want to come second best in a DW arms race. I had to have a games shed built in the back garden so I would have enough space to store this / play / hide from my wife in. I have to say though, that as a man inspired by sheer acquisitiveness, you have me well and truly beat Naz. I reckon I have approaching 5K KoB, but not in the big league yet. What am I missing, Naz? Are they attached to something? On a related noted, my Brit armoured box and blister of Archers brings me to just over 5k. At the moment only one other DW player has followed this, and he plays RoF, so allies are necessary to pound those into slag.
