Official Kurak Alliance Thread: Tarakian

So, I just picked up a Tarakian Battleship, and boy do I love this model. Looking at it online and in pictures, I always thought it looked kind of small, so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the package and saw this:

This thing is awesome. I feel silly thinking that it was going to feel a bit on the small size.

It looks like I'm missing a turret.

How do I go about fixing this?

Pics are working for me without problems in the original post.

The missing part you can likely get replaced without any fuss if you contact Spartan direct regarding a manufacture/packaging flaw in your product. Generally from what I've heard, Spartan deals with these problems both fast and without fuss.

I have that ship as well(as many) and was very surprised at the size. So much so I was actually a little annoyed that it makes the razorthorn seem small. :( .

Will just has to feild a Tarakian/Xelocian fleet...oh what a shame. lol

And certainly the combination of Tarakians and Xelocians will look wonderful, backed up by the Xelocian DN! ;)

I had an uneven numbers of tops and bottoms of Directorate escorts, Spartan customer service is FANTASTIC, they will replace your miscast bit very quickly.

Where the Tarakians first came from is unknown. Their entire civilisation settled itself within the Harrison Belt north of the Sebrutan long before the first primitive Aquan starships lifted off from Csera. Fleeing an unknown peril that had driven them from their homes, the Tarakians established themselves on a series of cold, desolate planets along the outer edge of the Belt and built massive, soaring citadels of silver and steel against the approach of an unknown adversary.

The naval vessels of the Tarakians have been seen throughout civilised space for as long as records have been kept. Usually these sleek, massive ships are only seen from a distance before they disappear in the blink of an eye, transported with some technology other than the Fold Space Drives used by other races. However, Tarakian vessels have been known to intercede during particularly violent raids of civilian shipping. Both Ba'Kash and Veydreth raiding fleets show Tarakian ships great respect, immediately ceasing activity at their first appearance.

I have been staring at thoes words in the description of the Tarakians and every time I imagine a fleet far more advanced then anyone else hovering around each battle learning their future allies moves and tactics so for when the time comes they may use their allies to protect the galaxy from a threat larger then all of the others species combined.

I have been trying to picture them and I see a smaller fleet that is more powerful per ship then anyone but at the same time uses them in smaller numbers as patrols most of the fleet guarding the home world from an unknown threat their massive forms slowly drifting though space keeping a constant vigil over the galaxy.

I wanted to know what do people think these ships would look like and do you think Spartan games will be adding them any time soon? My idea of the fleet is pretty simple. I see them as a fleet that costs almost twice as much per ship but at the same time each ship. I picture then having NO escorts and their smallest ship being a medium running around 70 points and their larger ships running up to 300 points. I also do not see them as using titans because thoes are too valuable to move away from the homeworlds. It would be a truely elite fleet with a total of maybe 4-5 ships at 600 points due to the strengh of each individual ship. I see them as using energy based weapons that penetrate armor well and their own ships having a strong amount of shields and toughness. With them being so strong though they can be overwelmed by lots of smaller ships but one on one they are a match for even a titan.

Just looking for thoughts and hopes!

Ahem..you do know they have stats, right? Good, but not overwhelmingly so at all.

As for fluff, I can't help but think "bulls**". As in, they are selling the rest of the sector their own version of a story, while in reality they probably got evicted by Evil Alien Confederation for not paying their galaxy-tv tax or something.

Can you send me the link to the stats? Really I could not see them as a bad guy in the fluffy it says they only intervene if really needed and usally it's to protect one ship from another in an attack. I think of them as a global police. They are obviously not agrressive so in my mind they are not evil.

I didn't say they're bad...just the most useless of their lot. Like a pasty, overweight nerd with a cheap faux-katana, which moves into new neighbourhood and poses as PALADIN OF JUSTICE!

But I'm just mean probably :P

They may not have big AD numbers but Look at their RB 3 and 4 guns, very little drop off of AD at the 3 to 4 range. And then there's the potential for three different Torpedo attacks per activation that don't go down with damage with the battleship. The cruisers can get nasty with that in full four ship squads.

Also think of their MARs

Protected Systems = 50/50 chance of negating critical hit effects

Medical Shuttles = They can restore their own CP/AP (or those of their allies)

Repair Shuttles = They get another roll to repair any critical hit effect that that Protected Systems didn't prevent. (or allow another allied ship to get a chance at repair)

And cheetahfurry, the Tarakians are slated to have more ships released soon, which should give us a better understanding of how the models/ships look and how they work together.... :)

What did I miss ? Who, what, where more Tarakians ?????????????

Hi guys,

I got one of these, and I have a problem with the inserts.

Okay we have the 4 turrets inserts for the top, but 2 different inerts for underneath. What's the orrect layout for these, as the picture on the card shows two the same down one side is that correct?

I'm not sure if there is a official way. But I put the hangers in the front lower position. See pic.
