Nope, sorry...that's the undocumented 'feature' in 3rd...the edition police are coming!!

(joking, again....really!)

LOL. That's why we play in lead lined underground bunkers. When above ground we wear tinfoil hats to prevent the thought detecting space lasers from picking up on the custom rules :P;)

@alextroy. Yes hopefully it is restricted. Dedicated Assault ships

Bad choice of words on my part.  The assault ships have it, and some others. My point (not well expressed) was that each race has access to it...it's not just one or two ships.

While I'm glad that probably means my Directorate fleet can retain its theme without being forced to cut ships/squadrons to buy the points to allow me to use them...it does make me wonder why it costs anything at all?

If the ships that were going to board anyway will have the thing that makes it 'free' (until disordered...which they become by failing to board) and the ships that weren't going to board as anything but speculative 'might as well' have to pay. Haven't you written a whole load of extra rules and such to basically say 'no speculative boarding'.

Not really it stops 'have a go boarders' If you want to fling an assault from a non dedicated ship it takes a little more doing

Thematically I like it - a last ditch desperate boarding action by some less then ideally suited booted and equipped marines vs drilled trained and dedicated forces

ok and that's what I was wondering, otherwise we would need a LOT of CO

@Spartan Mike any chance of disorder checks still being able to remove a disorder marker, with a CO to ensure removal?

s is a lot of CO will be needed, just for disorder

Remember to check your @ names when you are trying to get my attention.   I was here too late to get the nifty Spartan Mike, so they gave me the Spartan FA Mike instead. :)

I had actually brought this up during testing.  I was overruled on being able to quickly get rid of disorder.  It is meant to be a second path to defeating ships, so while you can remove some disorder, you can't get rid of it cheaply.

There are still repair rolls, if I remember right, but you can guarantee the repair with a CO.

This is correct.

So wait, my Aquans will be getting a ship with access to boarding abilities?  That does not seem right, thematically. The only time I have ever boarded with my Aquans was verse a Directorate heavy cruiser in a desperation move.  I crit the stupid thing too, my opponent and I thought it was hilarious.  But still I hope the Aquans have the least boarding ability in the game.  Lt. Flipper flopping his way through the corridors of an enemy ship just does not feel righ to me :).

/puke

Focused Fire is....well, I can't describe how much I hate it without getting banned from the boards.  And now they make specialists that use it every single shot?  Did they learn *nothing* from Planetfall.  PLAYERS DON'T LIKE FOCUSED FIRE.  IT SUCKS IN PLANETFALL AND IT WILL SUCK IN ARMADA.  There's Planetfall threads where the designers admit that Focused Fire is broken and needs to be fixed, but then they port it into another system?  And give a work-around for one of the few usage restrictions?  ARGH!

I try to be positive, but this is just terrible.

marines and regular crew have different functions on a space ship. It's strange to have their dice being one pool.

Not the whole crew can attack how is this reflected in the rules, after AP is removed?
