Deployment

I had the Strategic advantage and chose to trap my opponents with the help of the sand bars. My opponent was unlucky and his flankers came in Turn1. I was faring any better, with my flankers only arriving at Turn 3.

Turn 1

The  Elbe and Arminius focused fired upon the Minerva, destroying it. Though the Gladius managed to crit the Elbe in return. Concentrated fire from the Affodatore was terrifying as it managed to double crit the imperium from RB3. The Pilum got in a shot of its calcification gen upon the KK, rendering it defenceless versus Torps. I failed to repair this effect.

Turn2

My opponent managed to sneak in some Torpedo bombers, critting the Sturmbringer and causing a Sturginium Flare, teleporting it way back. I managed to do the same thing in return with my Kaiser Karl upon his Mars, while also using the KK to crash into his bunch of Uccisore. My opponent concentrated fire on the KK, nearly bringing it down.

Turn 3

The KK was finally brought down by bombs from the Ballistae and the Pilum, but not before the KK did a slow speed manuevour and boarded the Hasta. My flankers arrived and did some damage to the Affodatore. The Affodatore strayed too close in trying to destroy the Uhlans and were boarded by me instead. The lost of their commodore caused the Stiletto Squad to be disordered, though the rest of the squad are fine. The imperium then rammed into the Pilum and Collided with the Ballistae, before successfully boarding the Ballistae.

At the end however we decided to call this a draw as the battle took quite a long time to finish , though looking back it was an interesting battle.

I apologize for the crappy report, as i had initially written a detailed one but it was lost when i tried to submit it. Kind of disheartened now.

Love the work you put into the diagrams, depicts the flow of battle well (chaotic!). Surprised it ended in a draw, as to me it feels like the prussians hammered the italians there. Did you use battle orders? What was the final score on both ends?

p.s.,

At least now you've learned to type large posts in a word processor first now :P

Yes indeed.  And am glad you liked the diagrams!  Those took me quite a few hours to put up!

Well we didn't play with Tac cards as we tend to avoid those due to some players feel that it might disrupt the balance between factions.

There were a few misplays on our side,  for one,  we forgot to draw obj cards till mid turn1, and secondly I forgot I allowed my opponent to do an out of turn height band change for the hasta, which means the Hasta could have changed a few things in the game.  Also I had a ridiculously nasty and lucky boarding phase,  wiping out both the affodatore and the Balliatae with only 6 boarding AP!

So overall we decided that we would conclude this as a draw as the the battle could swing either way if escalated for a few turns.
