WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted June 10, 2017 I had a clear idea in mind for the Terrans. I wanted a Dark Blue scheme with Blue grey on select panels. The metals and black came in as the painting unfolded Under orders from Admiral Sir Chalonor Ogle. A Terran Scouting fleet arrives at Fremantle Port Station to investigate reports of increased Corsair Pirate activity in the area thanks for looking, hope you like them 5 azrael, Skyhawk, Big_0 and 2 others reacted to this

WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted June 18, 2017 My painting area was packed up for much of this last week. So I have barely touched brush to mini. I have however managed to get some of my storage sorted out. My Most colourful fleet finally does not live wrapped in tissues. The Works Raptor: I use sheets of A3 paper with a grid of the foam to plan out my storage before I pluck foam. Thanks for looking, I promise the next update will include some more painted stuff 1 Pathogen reacted to this
jcee 60 Report post Posted June 19, 2017 I like the color scheme they look great. Using the grid paper is a really good idea! 1 WestAustralian reacted to this
WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted July 19, 2017 Thanks for the comment @jcee, I love my WR minis, the metal plates are my only issue, they chip easily. Without the grid to layout onto I would never get effective use of the Pluck Foam. I have been working away recently but I have some pics from before and after my trip. New Corsair Unit, these are great looking miniatures with lots of lovely details. They really are a great addition to the force. I picked out 4 of the Markers to Paint. Nearly done. While Painting my Dindrenzi PF assault helix I started to paint some frigates. thanks for looking, comments and "likes" are appreciated WA 4 Bessemer, vice128, Pathogen and 1 other reacted to this

WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted July 26, 2017 Thanks for the inspirational comments guys. @Bessemer. I have used all my Corsairs in Taskforce only. I was happy with the Privateers performance. I got my Dindrenzi T3's finished. Great models very sharp detail. I have started on my T2's. I am painting a full flight of 3, with both options. It will take a little while, but it's fun. These are some of my favourite miniatures from Spartan The Tokens are done I am very happy with the incomplete hex pattern thanks for looking. 4 Skyhawk, tansalus, azrael and 1 other reacted to this

WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted August 2, 2017 Thanks for the great comments I have been focussed on my Dindrenzi Decurion/Velites. more colours applied: The bits needed to make the Starter force complete: basecoat and dry brush applied. Test colours done on the first ship Now it's just a matter or repeating on the others. That's how I always paint a unit. I take time on the first one coming up with the colour layout. Then quickly copy the colours across the others as always thanks for looking WA 7 Bessemer, jcee, Works Raptor and 4 others reacted to this

WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted August 9, 2017 Thanks @Skyhawk. Yes you should paint your Dindrenzi. But first, please explain why it's "repaint", I am intrigued. Thanks @jcee I have really been flipping between FSA and Planetfall lately. Every time I have had a dry day on a weekend I have primed/undercoated like mad. You know the saying "spray paint while the sun shines" This has given me a plethora of miniatures to pick from. [/ Those of you who follow my Planetfall Thread would have seen my Dindrenzi Infantry, I gotta say I don't make infantry easy for myself, lots of 3 colour shades. But it's what I gotta do. It took a lot out of me, so I needed a break from the Dindrenzi colour set. This is where the aforementioned Plethora comes in handy.... Presenting, (Work in progress) Omnidyne Special Operations Foundry Class Dreadnought, The "Swift Decision". This is the old model with the metal Rings. Btw, it is actually a Deep Red, like Burgundy Velvet. The camera makes it look Brown. I have pinned and magnetised the model, so I can field it as Executive Class Battleships. And Her Synergy Class Corvettes, acting as escort. I never got any of the old metal Synergy Corvettes but that's ok. These models are really nice. These are going to make a great allies for my Corsairs. I hope you have all been reading the awesome Battle Fiction by @skyhawk. He has nspired me to write a short background for my Corsair Admiral. I have started to write backgrounds for other major players in my universe. I am thinking of starting a new thread with Fictional stories about these Fictional Characters, including pictures of the ships they command. Posts would not be that often, as I need to paint their ships first. I don't want to put it in this thread as it will get lost amongst hobby updates. Thanks for reading my midnight thoughts. WA edit: sorry for the weird blue underlined text. I wrote this elsewhere and pasted it in. I don't know how to fix the formatting 3 Skyhawk, Bessemer and clifford reacted to this

WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted August 10, 2017 Thanks @Skyhawk, You should definitely revisit your Dindrenzi, I would love to see the Dark Knights of Dramos. For me, sunny days are for spending outdoors Spray painting. Rainy days are for spending inside with a brush. Late nights are for cleaning and glueing the next batch. That's in a world where life doesn't send work my way.... I cleaned up 6 metal Corsair Frigates and 6 plastic Corsair Frigates last night. Going to clean and glue the terrible thrusters to some new Corsair Cruisers tonight. Later will be the final Racketeer conversion.. I will clear my Planetfall Display area this weekend and set up for Armada pictures. I will get the fiction and pictures for my first character as soon as I can. "Ivan Dirkie De Veenboer was born to poverty on Terran resource mining station GDX-712". Sometimes Pirates have hard lives. I copied names of Dutch Corsairs and Barbaby Corsairs as well as the typical Caribbean Pirates. Please nobody get offended at the names used or stuff. Works Raptor 40 Report post Posted August 14, 2017 Some beautiful minis on display here, WA. Your Corsairs are giving me a massive Turanic vibe. Is that intentional? 1 WestAustralian reacted to this
WestAustralian 818 Report post Posted August 16, 2017 Thanks @clifford, they are looking quite chunky. Thanks @jcee, I am definitely not a fan of the current colours used on the Omnidyne boxes. I am a big fan of how they look in the old rule book though. Thanks @Works Raptor. Nope, I had to search for "Turanic". Definitely similar, though yellow and black on evil starships has appeared a few different places. So, I have focused my time on the Omnidyne Dreadnought and it's escorts. "Old Man" Rob will be next in my Fiction, the Dreadnought "Swift Decision" is his personal ship The Dreadnought comes apart, to give me 2 battleships So it's really just the engine/thruster energy left to go on the Omnidyne dreadnought I also got some more undercoating done And a couple of shots of my work area. I always have a bunch of stuff laid out in various stages. Things ready to clean, just Primed, ongoing. I usually get a basic Idea of a scheme before I start, then much of the details unfold as I go. Having a bunch of stuff laid out like this makes it easier for me to find inspiration Thanks for looking, likes and comments are appreciated WA 4 Bessemer, Pathogen, alamo and 1 other reacted to this
