Omnidyne To cyber or not to cyber?

I just got in my new Omnidyne fleet, and I am playing around with some lists. I wanted to get everyone's opinion on how heavy in the cyber warfare department I should go? With the new ships we have a bit more flexibility now.

I've played a couple of test games with the new stuff, and in my opinion, the choice depends on how many interceptors your opponents usually take.  As their cyberwarfare is all in the form of ARTs, then it can be shut down easily by interceptor spam.  The ARTs have nice secondary effects, and crew kill is great against some fleets.  However, most ships get less dice than they get of straight torps, and if your meta is anything like mine, you already won't have enough dice to get through to most things anyway.

Personally I think the Dreadnought still occupies a very fun spot with its ability to take both torpedoes (and upgrade for biohazard torps) and ART cyber weapons. It gets real expensive real fast but the look on your opponent's face when they're forced to choose between losing crew to possible ART or losing crew to biohazard torpedoes is pretty priceless.

 

Overwhelm the PD and if you can't do that you could always use a sacrificial shunt corvette squad with PD and bigger batteries to try mitigate interceptor bubbles. Then unload ART hell right into your target. 

I can't wait to see a battle report with OmniDyne's new toys. I don't have mine yet and I'm the last man standing in my area who plays, everyone else has moved away. :(

Based on experience with Directorate I would either go with torps or ARTs. I wouldn't compromise. Battleship or Dreadnought take both in any case and buy Biohazard if you go with ARTs for the fleet.

I like my fleets with cyberwarfare everywhere. The new leverage cruisers with their 15 ad volley or 2x9 volleys are great to shut down mediums while beaming a different ship. I have yet to try the light cruisers/escort carriers
