Corinthian Club Chat!

Recommended Posts

I'm not into the Corinthian club, but I've considered it. I'm a Halo: Fleet Battles and Ground Command player (as soon as the later arrives, which I hope is soon as it's taking a while) that lives in Mexico, and I'm torn between paying for it to get a discount and a small bonus, or buying from a US shop, although some products do seem to be unique to Spartan shop.

Import costs are criminally high in Mexico, but still, would you guys think it's worth it, or would it be better to buy from inside my continent? I've been watching a few of the possible things to obtain from the Corinthian Club, but I'm still thinking of it, and comparing prices from what I have to pay in import costs compared between a Britain purchase and a US purchase.

Ah, sorry! I meant online stores on Mexico (which... would be eaglesnakecactiland).

Well, one store I kept in mind was Miniaturemarket, although it has no free delivery for Mexico. But in general, so it might not be for the best to buy from them? Pity. Still, I do see your point.

There have been little to no releases of note for dystopian wars or firestorm this year, not a very good deal for my lot who have bought into the club.

Judging by the fact that the August release has disappeared, September will likely be the Ground Command Dropships. That only leaves three releases for this year, in which Spartan have promised two faction releases for HGC and many vehicles. :S

As a fan of HFB, I think we're both going to be waiting 'til 2017 for new releases, though HFB at least got a good run in the first half of this year.

Hi all, just a quick one to say we'll be announcing the new gift list soon so keep an eye out!

@cadium I'm really sorry you feel this way. The club membership is designed to provide you with a free gift each quarter, and 15% off our online store. We're sorry that you feel our release schedule hasn't quite provided you with the upgrades that you wanted to purchase, but we hope you've enjoyed the benefits of the club. If you ever have any problems with your membership, you are always welcome to email me.

In regards to the lack of releases for some of our games, we hope that you've seen from our Facebook and blogs how this is changing. We've announced a lot of news and developments lately, including launching brand new campaigns for our Dystopian and Firestorm Worlds, and these will be supported with new models very soon. If you'd like to discuss this further, please do so in another thread however, so that this one stays on topic :)

Beth, I appreciate your reply but I still feel that he club is lacking. here is the original pitch:

An annual membership costs £25 (about US$40), and
entitles you to the following:
Four fantastic freebies each year - choose your favourite from a list every 3 months
15% off absolutely everything in our online store
Exclusive, members-only discounts and deals throughout the year (emphasis mine)

is this what we are getting?

The Easter specials email stated this:

Easter offers to tempt you ....

Discounts and bundles to tempt you... and remember that if you're a member of the Corinthian Club, you will get your membership discount on top of the discounts below!  Not joined yet or want to know more? Click here! (emphasis mine)

Offers valid until Monday 28th March

When I added the items from one of the Easter specials to my cart the club discount was not stacked.

What I thought (assumed I admit) we would get was a regular newletter, with advanced news and sneak peeks, special offers (as promised) and other niceties to reward club members. What I have received since march is two emails with the quarters gift (which I wouldn't class as free since I paid £25)

Hi @cadium

Unfortunately the Easter deals issue was entirely my fault, as I was still fairly new to the company and did not understand how to set the online store up correctly to allow both of these discounts to stack. I am very sorry for this. I am also sorry that you were not aware that for everybody affected by the issue of these discounts not stacking, we were happy to issue a coupon code for the value that they should have saved, to be used in our online store. As the mistake was ours, we were very happy to fix this to avoid anybody missing out and not getting the rewards they deserve. Perhaps this communication was not made widely enough to be visible to everyone, and for that we do apologise - as you've hopefully seen from our increased Facebook and blog activity, communication is something we are very much trying to improve on.

We do also have further deals planned for later on in the year, and as this is the first year we have run this scheme, we would be the first to put our hands up and admit that this is very much still alike to a teething process. We are trying to work out what works best for you all and how we can run it alongside everything else that we do.

Advanced news and sneak peeks is not something that we were or are able to promise to the Corinthian Club, as our release schedule is subject to change until announced, and sometimes this does take place at the eleventh hour. The club benefits are exactly as stated on the shop description, to avoid any confusion. The main benefit is, of course, the 15% off, which we particularly hoped would make it easier for customers purchasing from outside the UK who often get hit by high shipping costs and long delivery times.

As I say, the Club is in it's first year, so we will very much be assessing its performance and functionality in March next year (once it has run a full year) and be looking at any changes or improvements that we can make. :)

To buck the trend a little, I like it. I picked up the HFB bundle at easter and got a stacked discount. All up that plus the first free gift covered the cost of the membership compared to buying from a local discount retailer. Anything else i get now is gravy.

That said i would have loved to see the 3rd quarter gifts to bundle with the weekend HFB deal, but alas.

For the record im an existing customer and have fleets for every spartan product so not just a new players view.

@novajohn Sorry to hear that we didn't get the next quarter newsletter out in time for you John - you can always contact us and ask to add a gift to an order that you have already placed. We will be sending that newsletter out with the new gift options today, so do let us know.

@slk28850 Yes, that is exactly how the club works. For example, this weekend we've run a Halo: Fleet Battled 30% deal on selected products - Corinthian Club members have been able to stack this discount on top of the standard 15% and pick up some great bargains! The free shipping threshold for our entire website is £100 pounds, regardless of whether or not you have Corinthian Club membership. :)

Just another wee query: The first two quarters both featured a Dystopian Wars Bunker but since they have the same code you can only order it once. I ordered a Prussian one in the first quarter and would have ordered a Britannian one in the second quarter but the cart forbids it (single use only code).

@cadium yes, this is to minimise the potential for people to abuse codes. Most people order something different every time, so normally this is not an issue. If you do really want to request something a second time, you can always email us at despatch@spartangames.co.uk and request it, along with putting a comment in your order comments box.

Just happened for the second time, added the code , made sure it was in the order and sent it. Now it's missing , I wouldn't mind if I ordered stuff all the time or the p&p was less but as it is I'm probably going to wait for the next quarter

Hi Andy, I think I've emailed you regarding this, but for anyone else having this problem - please don't worry. If there is an issue with your coupon code, you can simply put the code in the order comments box, and to be on the safe side, email our despatch department too (despatch@spartangames.co.uk). I'm afraid Thursday 27th is my last day with Spartan Games, so please avoid using my email address after this date (beth@spartangames.co.uk) as although it will be checked periodically, you will receive a quicker response from Despatch.
