Combining Weapon Attacks (clarification)

Recommended Posts

(P.17 - FSTF RB)

I asume that combined weapons need to have the same Classification and all MARs in common, right? According to RB "[...] same Classification and a MAR in common [...]" the AP cruiser and the carrier can combine their Laser Batteries because they got a classification and a (one) MAR in common (beam), but the cruisers lasers got an additional MAR (precision) which the carrier doesnt.

So is this just a mistake? And if not, what if I combine? I assume if the combining is allowed, the precision MAR doesnt work because all weapons need it for kicking in?

Or are my bad english skills tricking me here? Xx

I'd say that they can combine, but until told otherwise I'll skip any MARs not shared by all contributing weapons (in Planetfall every weapon actually gets all MARs, but I'm not about to apply that here).

Spartan Derek has the final word, though.

The classification MUST be the same, but may link if there is A MAR in common.

The MARs for weapons don't say "if all weapons", most mention damage by a weapon with MAR x does something.

So the Escort Carriers and Cruisers can link and get the MAR effects.
