"May" not be effective? How do you expect a lumbering Leviathan to move away from a Sky Drop marker to avoid Nyx when the Nyx not only move as fast as it, but also get to add to that they need to just come within 4" to make a CQB attack? :P Their threat range is 10" with a 6" cruise speed, just put a sky drop marker infront of the Leviathan and laugh at it's attempts to try and flee. x)

Yeah, it's not the best situation and that's why I said it may not be effective, depending on how close the Sky Drop Marker was placed, how zeroed in it was and how the deviation roll went. The best bet in this situation would be to deploy your Recon Elements close to the Leviathan and the Sky Drop Marker and go straight onto Overwatch at your first opportunity. Recon Elements deploy after Sky Drop Markers, so you could deploy any Veydreth you had plus your Light Skiff and Medium Battle Walker around any Sky Drop Markers that had been placed and that would likely be an immediate threat...and before the Dindrenzi player had a chance to zero the Sky Drop Marker, you would have a chance to get onto Overwatch, giving your Leviathan (or who ever else) time to move away from the Sky Drop Markers or at the least, some protection against striking Nyx, or forcing the Dindrenzi player to choose a different option with his Nyx.

But it's mean that Dindrenzi ALWAY can screw up your activation plan, prevent you from going for objectives (especially, with Nyx' new ruke that allow them to storm the building and resolve attack simulstaneoucly with defender) and make sure that Bor'Kas woul NEVER reach the enemt lines with their hideoucly small cruising speed

If you don't want to use the Bor'Ka, then use the three other units you have access to with Recon Specialist to do it.

Erm, Veidreth are nit avaliable currently... XD And honestly, their weaponry are POOR choice against infantry with Hard Target (-2). With left us with Ka'Kuns, whom we need to grab objectives, due our infantry now forced to sit back and ait for the Nyx to come. :(

The Veydreth are a valid selection in the ORBAT, proxy models if you want to use them until the actual models come out in the near future. Meh, use what ever tactics you want, but I wouldn't rule out using Recon units placed to cover Sky Drop Markers...conveniently, your Leviathan comes with two such squadrons if you so choose.

Starting Zero Hour: 30
Zero Hour Score: 14 / -24 (Directorate victory)

Ouch, my Dindrenzi got solidly thumped. Cyber is terrifying (my Heavy and a Medium squadron got an Activation marker before they activated on the 2nd turn... ), don't drop Nyx onto other Infantry Squads (the return fire hurts) and Directorate have some freaking amazing TACs (Blanket Fire just cleans Infantry and Recon away like nothing else... And it affects an entire Helix!).

I think you guys miss played here.. Blanket Fire states you select a Helix yes, but then further states you a select Squad WITHIN that Helix, and only the squad gets the benefit, not the whole helix sir.

Factions & Allies: Directorate & Works Raptor / Aquans & Terquai

Starting Zero Hour: 43
Zero Hour Score: 19 / -1 (Aquan Victory)

Turn Count: 2

Some fantastic Haumea rolls, Wraith went boom, suffered from the curse of the newly-painted (must be killed immediately).  Aquans did not field a Leviathan, had more activations and seemed to have more tactical flexibility because of it.  Leviathan TV and Point Values seem a bit high.

Wraith went bananas and between it and the infantry it killed a ton of stuff. The Haunters debuff was helping to hand out disorder nicely.

Johns first game with his Terrans (he's played using my Relthoza before). He ran right into my guns (and I rolled rediculiously well).

Called for time, but there was no way I could have caught up, not with only a single Take and Hold unit remaining.

First two activations his WR Helix killed my Heavy Helix (CQBd and shot my Haumea to death with the hoverlights, and I then failed my morale for the Tank Destroyers, causing them to be Forlorn due to a previous casualty from the Intereceptors)

I did manage to scrape some points back, though, once I started to grind through his squadrons, but it was not enough.

Also, my Leviathan failed to cause any damage whatsoever two out of three turns... Time to send the cadets piloting the thing back to gunnery school.

Points Value: 3400
Factions: Terran vs. Dindrenzi
Starting Zero Hour: 34
Zero Hour Score:  30 /10 (We decided to stop playing, since it was clearly decided for the Dindrenzi)
Turn Count: 1

My first loss and it wasn't even close. Opening round, his tank destroyers rolled a ridiculous number of hits and caused the Terran leviathan to go forlorn hope turn one, followed by the Dindrenzi leviathan dropping in at the end of the turn finishing off the heavy offensive hitters for the Terrans. Poor placement on my part and little terrain = bad day for the Terrans.

Well, this went surprisingly well, despite Turn one being mostly me getting shot by Directorate. Outstanding units were the Hawker Helix and Terran Shields. Will go discuss further in the Chat area. :P

Well, apparently hurling squadron after squadron of Nyx at Overwatch and jammy-dice-armed Sorylian Infantry isn't the solution... Just saying... :P

- I think my Aquans have never lost so badly. We did an introductionary game, with two newbies, with incredible dice rolling.

- Aquan win iniative, and use it to move the 2 Sednas, to fire on the Castigator Heavy tank,  (2 hits, no Pinpoint, at Long range)

basically the only good dice roll on the aquan side for the whole game) they only managed to kill 5 buggies for 4 TV the game.

- Aquan Heavy Helix (Haumea and Locatus) fires 2 rounds of focused fire into the directorate Medium tanks for no Point of damage, ;-(

- when the Castigator activates it moves into his effective range and shoots with 15 dice, on the Sedna, 26 hits,- 2 for damage and 4 shields save 3 so 21 hits,

22 hits would have damaged the second sedna, so one sedna is destroyed,  (luckily the disorder test is passed)

- round 2 Directorate wins initiative, and activates the castigator again, does another 2 Points of damage on the sedna, sedna shoots back doesn't get the last Point of damage on the castigator,  avengers finish off the sedna, basically game lost,
