Firestorm Planetfall Battlescribe Files

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I desided to teach myself how to code in Battlescribe in order to create the files needed to build armies for Planetfall. You can find the files here : http://battlescribedata.appspot.com/#/repo/firestorm-planetfall

Let me know if there are any issues... I'm sure there will be - I finished some of these files on very little sleep :)

Enjoy!

Steve.

That's the way the output looks. It's EF / EF AD / LR / LR AD.

I would have centered the numbers if it were an option to make it more clear. I'm guessing you read it as EF / EF / AD / LR / LR / AD.

I would have just named both 'AD' after the range, but Battlescribe doesn't allow identically named fields.

Nyx infantry are sky dropping sans pod... as much as the Terrans would love that, no. Can we rain firey death on our enemies rather than firey dead? Please?

For all that it matters just change the base cost of a Nyx unit to 30 and add the profile for the drop pod to the base of the Nyx unit branch. Its not like we can take empty pods or Nyx without them.

Great job! Have been hoping for someone to get some files done for Battlescribe since PF came out.

A few minor tweaks on the Directorate:

  • Patriot is misspelled as "Partiot" under the Shock Infantry Cadre for Directorate.
  • I don't seem to be able to make a valid Shock Infantry Squad if I select an Officer. The validation expects you to always select 5 entries from the Specialist Troops section, but because the Officer is an extra, it puts you over the limit and if you then reduce the number of specialists, it says you don't have enough choices.
  • It's possible to select more infantry models than will fit in the transport (Officer, 2 Sweepers, 2 Gun Teams). Not technically a bug, as it's not forbidden in the ORBAT, but it would be nice to get a warning.

And a few general tweaks:

  • Morale is missing it's final "e" in the Command Element descriptions.
  • Cruising is missing the first "i" in the Flying description.
  • Impassable is misspelled as "impassible" in the Tracked/Wheeled Vehicle description.

Just drop me a PM if you want any help with maintenance of the files in future. Happy to help!

I've found a few things with the files, but I'm about to head off to work and I also don't have the rule book yet to make sure my memory is correct (my flgs still hasn't received its Dec release order yet, so I've only been able to briefly read through the rules with a friend's book) so I'll take some time tomorrow and type up a detailed post. I think the catalog files could use a little reorganization which would greatly help. Mainly, changing some of the game system entries and moving them to the catalog files. This would allow all of the models in a core helix to be under the catalog entry of 'Core Helix' and then on the roster you could just do a + or - to pick how many of each model you want. I'll try to explain a little better tomorrow or Thurs if it's confusing.

I was using the aquan file on android it was not letting me add a sirsir to the medium tank squadron. No problem adding one to the heavy. Anyone else with this problem or is it just a bug in my device.

Hey MaxToreador - that fix was already in place. The PC version of Battlescribe updated no problem, but the andriod version wouldn't update right. If you delete your data files and re pull it should be corrected for you.

Neiltj1 - no problem!

Fabiusm - what new version are you looking for? If you have errors with something, try deleting the data and re pull. If it's still not fixed, please post what the issue is and I'll look into it :-)

I'm still not able to get the Android app to update. On the PC version, I don't see any change in the file version numbers even though changes have been made. Perhaps the Android version needs the version numbering to change in order to know that it has to update?

Have you tried deleting the repository from your Android and adding it fresh?

I wanted yo get a somewhat stable 'first release' before increasing version numbers. In case you are right about those numbers being needed to pull I'll start incrementing them when I make changes.

Ok Mad Spy - those are now fixed.

I've also made an update so you can check to add the roster rules from Allied forces. I took the force specific model MARs and added them to the models in each force.

Also - the Heroes of Tarxon VI - Terrans are now released!

Once again - let me know if there are any issues.
