V2 5000 points: the first great battle of Jersey

Recommended Posts

So over the weekend myself, Bloodasp, LikeASir, and Solar ran a demo and participation game at Outpost 5000 points a side which faffing and lunch and recycling line units included only took five hours to play!

So on one side we have the Imperial bond a mostly Prussian Force with some EotBS thrown in because Solar wanted to use his toys :P which is the unpainted resin in the pictures.  On the opposite side we have the Grand Alliance which was about a 50/50 split of KoB and the terracotta army FSA,  The IB forces are fielding a pair of Walze and the GA have a Terrier and a Pioneer included.

The deployment is a criss cross, so we have IB forces attacking from the south west and north east and the GA the north west and south east.

The mission is three objectives which each grant 5 log points a turn, and points are also given for the destruction of enemy units.

The north West English line:

The South West Prussian line:

The Eastern lines:

The bloody melee:

The unpleasant end of the Pioneer (which needed more infantry support)

Two Walze are infact superior to a single terrier:

And even beaten up are then able to dominate the town square as the knights push forward:

The companion game of Dwars (the table is represented by a 6"x3" area, because scale:

Overall:  Much fun was had but after the american line fell even with recycling troops the FSA couldn't hold back the Prussian assault let alone challenge for the farmhouse objective held by the Japanese command section.  Over the river the Prussians pushed back the KoB with armoured superiority and some unchecked lancers, killed the forlorne Hussars on the bridge for a glorious victory, 30-13 on battle log points.

Turns out that Imperial Riflemen in heavy cover on the other side of a river are quite capable of tearing through squads of FSA infantry in the open... who knew? Kudos to Drachenfutter, LikeASir and Bloodasp for their sterling efforts to keep the game flowing and keep participants involved on all sides, it was a great day and we really put the game through it's paces but it came out swinging.

My most memorable moment was when the green Walze opened up on the so far unharmed Terrier the words quietly said in my ear "I don't think that Walze will do much to that Terrier" It smashed straight through the mighty Britten armoured monster and blew it to pieces. Much to everyone's surprise.

All round a very fun day.

Varies, red are command, blue are activation (you need them at 5k with multiple commanders)

The shaken are actually little green ghosts which are visible on the tanks for most of the game, they are some of the coolest markers in history.
