  1. With the introduction of an eighth faction for Dystopian Wars last month, the big releases don’t stop as June sees new pre-orders for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics. The Sultanate call for further firepower this month, following the introduction of the Anatolia, with the launch of the Suleiman Battlefleet Set. The newest faction to Dystopian Wars, the Latin Alliance, also request backup to escort the Oriflamme and are relieved to find the Alliance Frontline Squadrons en route. Nothing lasts forever in the harshness of the Wild West but family comes close. Through thick, thin and robotic replacement, the Earps have persevered with hardy resolve and are ready to show just how much family matters with the Vengeance of the Earps Posse for Wild West Exodus. Take your battles to the thriving village of Estun, a range of high quality scenics fit for any fantasy wargame. Available as a Terrain Set, the Estun Village Set, and the Estun Long Hall; Estun serves as a perfect setting for your tabletop. Due to be released at the end of June 2022. Dystopian Wars A new flagship for the Sultanate emerges this month as the Suleiman Battlefleet Set offers a dual-deck solution to strengthen your aerial presence. The fresh face of the French continues to grow as the Alliance Frontline Squadrons adds the perfect one-two punch to the recently released Oriflamme Battlefleet Set. Suleiman Battlefleet Set The twin decks of the Suleiman Fleet Carrier are replete with squadrons of Sabiha strike aircraft. An impressive vessel, the Sultanate values supremacy of the skies that the Suleiman class brings. While her twin hulls make her slower to turn than other vessels of her size, her ability as the flagship in a carrier assault group shows the huge advances the Ottomans are making thanks to heavy investment by the Sublime Porte. This box contains: 1x Suleiman Fleet Carrier 3x Cruiser (can be built as either a Iskandar, Izmir, Pasha or Sadrazam Class ship. Both cruisers can also be combined to build a Hurrem Grand Cruiser or a Mehmed Grand Monitor) 6x Temir Frigate 3x Cruiser (can be built as either a Constantinople, Mihrimah, Konya, Aydin or Morea Class ship) 6x Ferik escort skiff 3x SRS Tokens Alliance Frontline Squadrons The Chevalier cruisers and Charlemagne heavy cruisers are the mainstay of Alliance cruisers and are able to launch screens of torpedoes in a wide range of fire arcs, as well as lay down heat lances or rocket batteries, when necessary. Loire light cruisers are at the forefront of Alliance Battlefleets and as such often the first to engage with the enemy. They provide screening and reconnaissance for the rest of the battlefleet and any commodore worth his salt will know how to make best use of any Loire’s under their command. This box contains: 2x Cruiser (can be built as either a Loire, Picardy, Chevalier or Charlemagne class ship) 4x Ecuyere Frigate Wild West Exodus Sometimes you have to take the law into your own mechanical hand, and for the Earps the law is a family affair… Vengeance of the Earps Posse Those who think that Martha Earp has a softer nature than her brothers are sorely mistaken. After an illness in her childhood cost her an arm, she gained an unshakable resolve and vowed that she would survive anything life could throw at her, proving that fact to anyone who challenged it. Martha is joined by her brother, Warren Earp, a man who is not just the most ornery of his clan, but one of the most bad-tempered lawmen riding across the west. Fighting in the Ore War, something inside Warren snapped and no amount of cosseting could fix it. Now he rides with his sister, too angry to settle anywhere, keeping the peace by any means necessary. As a Justice of the Peace, the venerable patriarch of the family, Nicholas Earp was given a UR-24 automata to help with his duties. On his passing in 1863, the machine was damaged and fell into disuse. As the various siblings drifted away from the family home to fight in the Ore War, the automata was repurposed to help around the place. The UR-24 was especially useful to Martha, who had yet to fully embrace the mechanical prosthesis her father had acquired for her. This box contains: 1x Martha Earp mounted on Iron Horse 1x Warren Earp mounted on Iron Horse 1x James Earp mounted on Iron Horse Warcradle Scenics It’s not just miniatures this month; there’s also an exciting new Terrain Set and individual Long Hall available from the village of Estun that is perfect for games such as Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave and Call To Arms. Estun Village Set The Blacksmith of the Estun is one of the most revered men in the village. He may not be a warrior, though he could certainly hold his own in a fight. Instead, he is held in such high regard for without him the whole village would fall into disrepair. Everything from nails to horseshoes to swords makes its way out of that glowing forge. Even when all is quiet in Estun, the Tavern still has sounds of revelry. Mead, ale and wine from faraway lands are consumed by the hogshead. Life is hard in the mountains and everyone needs a place to ease the aching bones. Skalds know that they can pass through and get fed and watered for the price of a story. Can a village without a tavern truly be called a village at all? This set contains: 1x Estun Blacksmith 1x Estun Church 1x Estun Market Stalls 1x Estun Saw Mill 1x Estun Dwelling 1x Estun Watch Tower 1x Estun Tavern Estun Village - Long Hall The Long Hall is the most defensible building in the village. It has held against orcs, wolves, raiders and more eldritch enemies. It even survived a small fire after Belas the Bold tried throwing flaming axes in the hall during one particularly raucous festival. The Lord hands out justice here and all the village’s celebrations as well as funerals, which are all held within its stout walls. The commoners of Estun know this place as their refuge in dangerous times; the warriors know this as the place they will die to protect. This set contains: 1x Estun Long Hall There’s a lot to look forward to this month for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics. What are you looking forward to the most? Make sure you don’t miss out when these go live for pre-order on the 25th of June 2022 from your FLGS or Wayland Games Online. 2. Raise the anchors and ready your horses as May is full of exciting new pre-orders for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus, and Warcradle Scenics. Following the Sultanate's introduction to Dystopian Wars last month it feels like something is missing, but what could it be? That's right, the Latin Alliance. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the French take to the seas in the name of the Alliance. The Sultanate, hearing of this return, deploy reinforcements of their own to prepare for what is to come. The skies over Wild West Exodus are filled with the distinct clang of metallic wings piercing through the air as the Enlightened’s vulture-like invention, the Apex Hellion swoop down on their unwitting victims. Red Oak continues to expand this month as the Red Oak Town Set 2 features more of your favourite scenery and terrain re-releases, now in beautiful colour, in a great value set. Make sure not to miss when these exciting new pre-orders for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics go live on the 29th of April 2022. Due to be released at the end of May 2022. Dystopian Wars The French begin to lower the hull of the Oriflamme into the water as they get ready to kickstart their navy with the Oriflamme Battlefleet Set. In aid of the Anatolia, the Sultanate strengthen their hold on the waters with the Sultanate Frontline Squadrons. Oriflamme Battlefleet Set Driven forward by the memories of past glory the Latin Alliance launch their first ships in the form of the French Oriflamme Battlefleet Set. At the heart of the Alliance battleline can be found the Oriflamme Battleship. Thoroughly modernised from the hulls of ageing Prince de Joinville class Battleships, the Oriflamme are the pride of the Republique. As much a work of art as a Battleship, even enemy crews can’t help but be impressed by the lines and craftsmanship of an Oriflamme cutting through the waves. This box contains: 1x Oriflamme Battleship 2x Cruiser (can be built as either a Loire, Picardy, Chevalier or Charlemagne Class ship) 4x Ecuyere Frigate Sultanate Frontline Squadrons The Sultanate cannot rest on their laurels this month and must make sure to keep up their presence with the introduction of the Sultanate Frontline Squadrons. This box contains: 2x Cruiser (can be built as either a Iskandar, Izmir, Pasha or Sadrazam Class ship. Both cruisers can also be combined to build a Hurrem Grand Cruiser or a Mehmed Grand Monitor) 4x Temir Frigate Wild West Exodus Keep your eyes to the skies this month as the Enlightened are busy tinkering to create even more Apex Hellions. Apex Hellions Previously seen in the Murder of Hellion Posse Set, the Apex Hellions are available to pre-order as their own separate set. The Apex Hellions are a refinement of Caym’s designs for winged constructs, often used as lieutenants, or more accurately pack leaders, for his forces. Apex Hellions fly in on great mechanical wings tearing apart their targets without remorse or any emotion apart from hate amplified by whatever processes Caym uses to control these soaring terrors. They are the first to engage the enemy, urged on by a monstrous will that only seeks to tear and rend. While they lack the ability to employ ranged weapons, their Hellion Evicerators are more than enough to tangle up an opponent before ripping them apart in a hideous display of slaughter. Science untempered by ethics is a horrifying thing. This box contains: 2x Apex Hellions Warcradle Scenics Expand your Red Oak town with even more detailed terrain for your tabletop to host shootouts and gunfights with the Red Oak Town Set 2. Red Oak Town Set 2 This set contains: 1x Residence 1x Distillery 1x Town House 1x Gallows and Clock Tower 1x Post Office 1x Cartwright 1x Bank 1x Watchtower As you can see May is full of exciting releases for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics. Make sure to pre-order yours on the 29th of April from your FLGS or Wayland Games online. 3. This April there is a lot to look forward to from Warcradle Studios, with exciting new pre-orders for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics. April ushers in the introduction of a new faction to the sea as the Sultanate makes a valiant entrance to Dystopian Wars with the Anatolia Battlefleet Set. Waves begin to crash over the decks of a mobile stronghold as the Murmansk resurfaces for the Commonwealth and the Union call in more supporting vessels with the Union Support Squadrons. The wild side of Wild West Exodus gets that little bit wilder as the Ceruleans are back with a separate box of Cerulean Infiltrators for the Watchers. The town of Retribution returns to your tabletop with the Retribution Town range, now available as individual terrain kits. With so much to come for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics, make sure you don’t miss out when they are available to pre-order from the 25th of March 2022. Due to be released at the end of April 2022. Dystopian Wars The Sultanate joins the fray as the Anatolia Battlefleet Set is ready to set sail with their enriched knowledge unlocked by the New Learning. Almost as large as the Ice Maiden itself, the gigantic Murmansk Mobile Stronghold breaks the surface of the water and emerges in all its glory to repair any Commonwealth vessels. With these two huge releases the Union are forced to deploy additional reinforcements in the form of the Union Support Squadrons. Anatolia Battlefleet Set Once assumed to be at the brink of collapse due to their idleness, the Sultanate can no longer ignore the pressures of foreign enemies and has launched their first fleet to the seas of Dystopian Wars with the Anatolia Battlefleet Set. This box contains: 1x Anatolia Battleship 2x Cruiser (can be built as either a Iskandar, Izmir, Pasha or Sadrazam Class ship. Both cruisers can also be combined to build a Hurrem Grand Cruiser or a Mehmed Grand Monitor) 4x Temir Frigate Murmansk Battlefleet Set Rising from the depths, what at first looks like a small blot in the ocean becomes larger and larger until the massive Murmansk Mobile Stronghold breaks through the surface of the water. With a monumental crash of water the Murmansk is ready to aid any Commonwealth vessel. Part firebase and part repair yard, a Murmansk allows the Commonwealth to expand its theatres of operation around the globe. Utilising integrated void engine technology acquired by Helsinki Markov, the Murmansk can appear unexpectedly, rising from beneath the waves in a matter of minutes. The engineering teams aboard a Murmansk are so well drilled that they can even make emergency repairs during an engagement. Often an opponent of the Commonwealth thought a key target was critically damaged only for the brave teams aboard a nearby Murmansk to keep it in fighting condition. This box contains: 1x Mobile Stronghold (Can be built as either a Murmansk, Tobolsk, or Anastasia Class Ship) 4x Frontline Cruiser (can be built as either a Kutsov, Oleg, Sineus or Norilsk Class Ship) 2x Support Cruiser (can be built as either a Khatanga, Morozko or Pravda Class ship) 2x Stoletov Ekranoplan 8x Rurik Class Frigate 4x SRS Token Union Support Squadrons Following the soon-to-be released Enterprise Battlefleet Set, the Union are looking to strengthen their forces with the deployment of Support Squadrons. Packed with Cruisers and Automata this set adds a punch to any Union fleet. The Union fleet has seen a number of technological improvements since the defection of Nikolai Tesla from the Imperium, and a significant overall increase since the end of the Ore War. Support Cruisers and Automata have all been upgraded by the creative team in the Pipeworks. This box contains: 2x Union Support Cruisers (can be built as either a Discovery, Roanoke, California, Montgomery or Washington Class ship) 4x RC-52 Patriot Automata 2x SRS Tokens Wild West Exodus The pre-orders this month are out of this world as the Ceruleans return to Wild West Exodus. Eager to blend in and observe, these Cerulean Infiltrators are ready to aid any Watcher posse you may possess. Cerulean Infiltrators Hidden deep within society, the Cerulean Infiltrators have long lived amongst us and are now available outside of the Cerulean Clade Posse box. Full of undercover extraterrestrials, bring these masters of mimicking to your Watchers force. The Vreib possessed a naturally evolved chameleonic ability that helped them avoid or manipulate the many predators of their home world. When it was time for the species to join the Watchers Hegemony, this talent was seen as uniquely valuable. The Watchers spend centuries observing, trying to understand the sentient species of the galaxy. Being able to infiltrate such societies and live among them, even to think like them, was now possible thanks to the genetic talents of the Vreib. This box contains: 5x Cerulean Infiltrators Warcradle Scenics Now available for the first time in individual terrain kits, the bustling town of Retribution returns to your tabletop as the scene of epic gunfights and deadly shootouts. Retribution Town Range As the dust settles and the blood dries up in the scorching heat, the town of Retribution surely will not remain silent for very long. Following the conflict between Gustave Eiffel and Nikolai Tesla in Showdown at Retribution, the town of Retribution is now available as separate terrain kits to further customise the settings of your favourite wargames. There’s a lot to love this month with so much coming for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics. Make sure to pre-order yours on the 25th March 2022 from your FLGS or Wayland Games online. Want to keep up to date with all the latest news and releases? 4. March looks to be an exciting month for fans of Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics with pre-orders aplenty! The seas aren't calm for very long as the Enterprise Battlefleet Set is deployed by The Union, making quite the splash. A rising force in the Dystopian Age, the Japanese continue to grow their navy with more reinforcements in the form of Frontline Squadrons. The Enlightened’s nefarious experiments culminate in the creation of a deadly invention this month, as the Sickle Gyro Cav is added to their arsenal in Wild West Exodus. The town of Red Oak springs to life as its Saloon and Cathouse doors swing open once more, allowing players to bring the town to their tabletop in one great value set. Make sure not to miss out on all of these exciting March releases, available to pre-order from the 25th February 2022. Due to be released at the end of March 2022. Dystopian Wars The Union launch the largest vessel in their naval register this month with the release of the Enterprise Battlefleet Set, cementing them as a power that is not to be taken lightly. Not only that, following the release of the Kongo Battlefleet Set, the Japanese continue to expand their influence with the deployment of the Japanese Frontline Squadrons. Enterprise Battlefleet Set The Union's hard work has paid off as the Enterprise is ready to set sail for Dystopian Wars in the new Enterprise Battlefleet Set. As the Union pushed out into the Pacific and Atlantic, it required significant air power to support fleet operations. The Enterprise class is a formidable warship and the largest vessel in the Union naval register. Once dubbed the Great Experiment, the success of these vessels is beyond doubt. Powered by three massive Paddlewheels, this mighty vessel retains some of the manoeuvrability of the smaller Union ships while still being able to keep the ship moving at an impressive speed for its size. The recent addition of launch cables allow for more rapid deployment of Corsairs, of which it carries ten squadrons. The Enterprise class Heavy Carriers also serve as mobile headquarters for Admirals and other high ranking military and civil individuals of note when the fleet operates far from home waters. Alongside the frontline ships of the Union Navy, the Enterprise is rarely seen without a small flotilla of support vessels. These ships are also able to provide field repairs to the RC-52 Patriot Automata. These towering simulacra are designed by the brilliant theoretical engineers at The Pipeworks, and are the largest automata in the Union’s military. Just like smaller automata, over time their adaptive computations develop quirks that give veteran Automata distinctive personalities. Contents: 1x Enterprise Heavy Carrier 3x Yorktown Class Cruisers. Each Cruiser can alternatively be built as either Intrepid, Lexington or Reliant Class. 6x Farragut Class Frigates 3x Akron Observation Rotor 3x Discovery Class Cruisers. Each Cruiser can alternatively be built as either Roanoke, California, Montgomery or Washington Class. 6x RC-52 Patriot Automata 3x SRS Token Japanese Frontline Squadrons The Japanese face their competition head on as the Japanese Frontline Squadrons sail into action to escort the previously released Kongo Heavy Battleship. The supporting cruisers that are assigned to Battlefleets through the forces of the Empire vary great. From the imposing Hokkaido Heavy Cruiser down to the nimble Kanagawa Monitor there is a cruiser variant for every mission. Japanese Cruiser groups are typically accompanied by Chita Submersible Automata. These engineering wonders are the equal to the mechanical creations of the Covenant of the Enlightened and are used to protect the fleet from threats beneath the waves as well as assisting in assaults.ce aircraft that act as spotters and limited aerial defence. When needs must they can also perform bombing runs on enemy shipping but usually only when supported by other aerial units. The Japanese favour Kyoto frigates when running their patrols between the far-flung islands of their homeland. The vessels are ideally suited for this task and for new sailors a year on a Kyoto is their first experience of the proud naval traditions of the Blazing Sun. Contents: 2x Osaka Cruisers. Each Cruiser can alternatively be built as either Kanagawa, Hokkaido, Okinawa, Miyagi, Yamaguchi, Ishikawa or Honshu Cruiser 4x Kyoto Frigates 4x Chita Automata Wild West Exodus Not content with creating just the Mono and Strider-Cav, the Enlightened have much more to show for Wild West Exodus as their Cavs become airborne! Introducing the Sickle Gyro Cav. Sickle Gyro Cav The pursuit of science is a never-ending endeavour and the Covenant of the Enlightened will stop at nothing when developing their augmented army. It is from this pursuit the Sickle Gyro Cav is born. The line between madness and genius is a fine one. Often an invention, thought outlandish and unusable, has subsequently become almost commonplace. There are always those looking to push boundaries further and be noticed in such a world where remarkable contraptions such as the Strider-Cav walk the earth. In the case of the Prussian scientist Ludwig Berblinger, it was the notion of ‘walking the earth’ that he sought to challenge. Contents: 1x Sickle Gyro Cav Warcradle Scenics The town of Red Oak is open to all those seeking refuge and entertainment with the money to pay for it. Bring Red Oak to your tabletop with the Red Oak Town Set 1, which offers multiple of the original Red Oak terrain kits now available in colour, and in one great value set. Red Oak Town Set 1 The town of Red Oak has seen more than its fair share of shootouts and gunfights. Its location in the Arizona territory seems to be within the reach of many of the varied groups who hope to gain some sway over the people of the West. Various Outlaw gangs end up in town wanting to trade or spend their ill-gotten gains on whatever entertainment their minds can think up. The Cathouse and Saloon are usually the first place Outlaws (or anyone new in town for that matter) head to. Wyatt Earp passes through, sometimes dropping off his latest quarry in the Jail until they can be properly tried. Contents: 1x Crematorium 1x Cat House 1x Saloon 1x Bridge 1x Jail 1x Scatter 1x Metalsmith 1x Prospector's Shack And there you have it, the exciting new March releases coming to Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics. Not long left to wait now, pre-order yours on the 25th February 2022 from your FLGS or Wayland Games Online. Keep up to date with all the latest news and releases on the Warcradle Studios Blog and socials, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The pre-orders are now live! Make sure to check out the full blog post to get your hands on them now. View the full article
  5. February is upon us, and with it there are a whole host of exciting new releases for Dystopian Wars and Wild West Exodus that you will not want to miss. Not to be outdone by the Japanese’s introduction to Dystopian Wars, The Imperium valiantly return to the seas of the Dystopian Age with two new Battlefleet Sets! To combat this rise in power, The Crown are deploying more reinforcements with their Support Squadron. Augmentation aplenty for Wild West Exodus as Gustave Eiffel continues to expand his Enlightened force further with even more Mono-Cavs and Strider-Cavs, which will be available to purchase separately from the Showdown at Retribution Two-Player Starter Set. Don’t miss out on all of these exciting new releases that are available to pre-order from January 28th 2022. Due to be released at the end of February 2022. Dystopian Wars The Imperium are upping the ante this month, attempting to rule the seas with an ironfist using the Hochmeister Battlefleet Set and the Konig Battlefleet Set. Not to be beaten, The Crown deploy their own British Crown Support Squadron to strengthen their fleet. With the amount of power being introduced to Dystopian Wars, this month looks to be a very exciting one. Hochmeister Battlefleet Set Something massive stirs beneath the seas of Dystopian Wars for The Imperium. As it marches ever closer, the Hochmeister Battlefleet Set is ready to strike. The Hochmeister is a mechanical marvel crewed by Teutonic Knight-Luminaries. These Vitruvian colossi stride the seabed waiting for the perfect time to strike, launching upwards on powerful hydro jets. The Hochmeister erupts from the sea, water cascading off its hull as its huge Zweihänder sword cleaves through enemy vessels in an awesome display of Imperial might. As with all machines of war in The Imperium arsenal, their Colossi can be refitted to suit a different purpose. The Metzger Vitruvian Colossus exchanges the sword and shoulder mounted turrets for more devastating weaponry such as the Uber Flak Vierling and the Claw Arc Projector. Both of these come directly from the vaults of the Teutonic Knight-Luminaries and are therefore rarely seen. When one of these Colossi appears in the midst of combat a cheer will erupt from the crews aboard the nearby Imperium ships as they are seen as an omen of victory, usually for good reason. Contents: 3x Hochmeister Vitruvian Colossi. Each Colossus can alternatively be built as a Metzger Vitruvian Colossus Konig Battlefleet Set Not content with just one release this month, The Imperium launch a second assault with the Konig Battlefleet Set. The Teutonic Knight-Luminaries developed an advanced generator ship utilising much of the Elector class design. Featuring the latest in metallurgical and technological advancements, the Konig class is used to lead Teutonic battlefleets in operations around the globe. By decree of the Kaiser, these vessels are accountable only to the Grandmaster herself. Not only does this vessel boast an impressive array of generators it is also equipped with a devastating range of weaponry including a fore-mounted Sturmbringer. This combination makes the Konig a very valuable asset to any Imperium battlefleet. Like all capital ships the Konig is always supported by a combination of frontline, support and other smaller vessels. Contents: 1x Konig Class Battleship 1x Ferdinand Class Cruiser 1x Augustus Class Cruiser. The Augustus can alternatively be built as a Schaumburg Class 2x Arminius Class Frigates 2x Sigimer Class Destroyers. Each Destroyer can alternatively be built as Toten Class 1x Blitzen Bomber special SRS Token 1x Imperium SRS token British Crown Support Squadron Following the release of the Victory Battlefleet Set, The Crown have more in store with the British Crown Support Squadron, which aims to assist any Crown fleet with further reinforcements. While the Frontline Squadrons of the Crown Royal Navy are used to going toe-to-toe with enemy fleets, the Support Squadrons serve a range of unique roles to aid and assist the fleet as a whole to complete their missions. Contents: 2 x Agincourt Cruisers. Each Cruiser can alternatively be built as either Athelstan or Hotspur Class 4 x Excalibur Heavy Destroyers 2 x Morgana Submarines 2 x SRS Tokens Wild West Exodus The wheels begin to whir and the pneumatic legs stride forward with the release of the Mono-Cavs / Strider-Cavs, a set featuring options to build both the Mono and Strider-Cavs seen in the Showdown at Retribution Two-Player Starter Set. Mono-Cav and Strider-Cav Augmentation to overcome injury or disability was the goal of the Covenant of the Enlightened when they first began to experiment with grafting mechanisms to flesh. The power source known as RJ-1027 enabled the Covenant to take this intention to an extreme with more audacious and extensive modifications being possible. Some constructs had their legs and lower torsos replaced with motorised mono-wheels, commonly called Seekers, or with multiple articulated steel limbs, who became known as Widowers. If a construct could control a simple motorised mono-wheel, then why not integrate one into an RJ powered, gyro-stabilized weapons platform? The Mono-Cav was born. Utilising the same methodology is the Strider-Cav, a natural advancement of the Widower construct. Four pneumatic legs power it forward, resembling a sinister steel spider. Contents: 2 x Mono-Cav Constructs that can alternatively be built as Strider-Cav Constructs 4 x Bases With so many fantastic pre-orders this month for Dystopian Wars and Wild West Exodus it’s hard to pick a favourite. What are you looking forward to the most? Make sure you don’t miss out when these go live for pre-order on the 28th of January 2022 from your FLGS or Wayland Games Online. Keep up to date with all the latest news and releases on the Warcradle Studios Blog and socials, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. View the full article
  6. The waters of the Dystopian Age are coming alive once more with the upcoming release of a battlefleet set from an exciting new nation to Dystopian Wars, the Japanese! The Kongo Battlefleet Set will launch this January. Nikolai Tesla has been hard at work and January sees his hard work pay off with the release of the UR-31E Teslabots, your first chance to acquire these heavily-armed automata for Wild West Exodus outside of the Showdown at Retribution Two Player Starter Set. Last up is the Augusta range from Warcradle Scenics, which sees the Augusta Industrial Set, released in August 2021 now in individual terrain sets, allowing you to add even more to your wargames set in the grim setting of Augusta. Make sure you don’t miss out on all these exciting new releases available to pre-order from December 31st 2021. Due to be released at the end of January 2022. Dystopian Wars This month introduces a brand new nation to Dystopian Wars with the release of the Kongo Battlefleet Set. The Empire will be sure to take advantage of these new Japanese ships that pack a significant punch. Kongo Battlefleet Set The Japanese enter the fray for the first time and are ready to fight for The Empire with the upcoming release of the Kongo Battlefleet Set. Of all the Battleships upon the seas in the last 50 years the Britannia Class of the Crown has been considered the heaviest. That is until the Empire launched the Kongo Class Heavy Battleship. One of the deadliest warships to ply the seas of the Dystopian Age, the Kongo is crewed by some of the finest sailors in all of Japan. The design of this behemoth was always aimed at making it as armoured as possible while still retaining speed and manoeuvrability as much as the best Japanese naval engineers could manage. Wild West Exodus Can you hear that? The mechanical marching of the UR-31E Teslabots is almost deafening as Nikolai Tesla’s inventions come to life once more for Wild West Exodus. UR-31E Teslabots Nikolai Tesla is not a man to stand still. He is forever moving forward, tinkering with his designs and dreaming up new and ever more challenging projects. The UR-31 E is one such progression from the UR-31 Automata, a design that became ubiquitous to replace lost manpower after the Ore War. These so-called ‘Teslabots’ are hard wired with either ranged offensive instructions or more defensive, close order ones depending on their equipment loadout. Warcradle Scenics As night envelopes the industrial district of Augusta, the ne'er do wells come out in full force. Back from Warcradle Scenics is the Augusta Industrial range of terrain sets, now available to purchase individually. Bring the town of Augusta to life in Wild West Exodus, Warhammer 40k, Infinity, and more! Augusta Industrial Range On the edge of town sits the industrial district of Augusta. This collection of small factories, warehouses, and depots are busy by day and all but abandoned by night. When the sun goes down the dark alleyways and abandoned lots are rife with illicit activity, squatters, and criminal elements. But it doesn’t end there, things move in the shadows, shapes flow just out of the corner of your eye and if you stand very still you can hear a slow rhythmic thrumming of a vast machine beneath your feet. So this month is packed full of exciting upcoming releases with a new nation for Dystopian Wars, a set of standalone UR-31E Teslabots as seen in Showdown at Retribution for Wild West Exodus, and a range of industrial scenics from Warcradle Scenics. Make sure you don’t miss out when they go on pre-order December 31st 2021 from your FLGS or Wayland Games online. As always, be sure to keep up to date with Warcradle Studios’ socials, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for new releases and more. View the full article
  7. Here on the Warcradle Studios Blog we are continuing to showcase Showdown at Retribution with another Step-by-Step. Following on from the previous Step-by-Step on Tesla’s Head, Daz has continued to work on his Nikolai Tesla from the new Wild West Exodus Two Player Starter Set. This time, it's the turn of Tesla’s torso. Have you picked yourself up a copy of Showdown at Retribution and want a little inspiration on how to paint your leader of the Union? Well, follow along with Daz and your Tesla’s armour will look just as striking! Step 1: To start with, I applied a 50/50 mix of Umbral Umber/Heartfire as a base coat for the areas that will be gold. I made sure to leave a thin black line between the segments and the blue armour to aid with clarity and contrast later. Step 2: Then, after adding 25% more Heartfire to the Step 1 mix, I sketched the first highlight in with the light source slightly off centre to add a little more interest. Step 3: I then added a further 25% more Heartfire to the mix and refined the highlight areas. Step 4: The next highlight was just pure Heartfire which I applied inside the areas I’d previously highlighted in the past steps. Step 5: Next, I sketched in some rough light points with Cygnus Yellow. Step 6: I highlighted the light points with an equal parts mix of Cygnus Yellow, Menoth White Highlight and Vallejo Fluro Yellow for some added punch. Step 7: The final highlight was a Menoth White Highlight that I applied to the edges of the gold and the light points. If you want you can also add chips and extra light points to the armour at this stage. Stage 8: Finally, all the edges and light points are tidied and then edged with Menoth White Highlight to clean them up. Job done! Here we have the finished result, a fully painted Nikolai Tesla by Daz. View fullsize View fullsize How do you think Daz’s Nikolai Tesla is coming on? 8. November is a big month here at Warcradle Studios, exciting new pre-orders are coming your way for Dystopian Wars, Wild West Exodus and Warcradle Scenics. Dystopian Wars players have a lot to look forward to with the release of the Victory Battlefleet Set and the Tianlong Battlefleet Set. The Enlightened are also getting reinforcements with the Enlightened Support Squadron. Following on from the release of the new two player starter set; Showdown at Retribution, the Wild West Iron Horses will be available to pre-order as their own separate box and can be built for five different factions. Not only that, you will now be able to purchase the 3rd Edition Rules & Gubbins Set. Last but by no means least is the Promethean Complex from Warcradle Scenics. Built upon existing mineworks, this terrain perfectly captures the secretive and dangerous experiments the Covenant of the Enlightened perform in the pursuit of progress. With so much to look forward to, make sure you pre-order from October 29th 2021. Dystopian Wars This month there are three exciting new releases for Dystopian Wars. The Crown and The Empire have two new forces incoming, the Victory Battlefleet Set and the Tianlong Battlefleet Set, as well as the Enlightened Support Squadrons. Victory Battlefleet Set Following the release of the Britannia Battlefleet Set in late August of this year, The Crown has launched back into action with the brand new Victory Battlefleet Set. For the last three decades, the Victory class Heavy Carriers have been a dominating force around the globe. They demonstrate the huge significance that naval strength plays in all Crown military campaigns. As an island nation, the British consider the seas and oceans of the world as essential to hold their Dominions together. The Victory and her aircraft ensure that remains so. With an internal hanger that is rivalled only by the experimental Ice Maiden of the Imperium, A Victory can launch dozens of Defiant fighters into the skies to defend the fleet from incoming bombers or to hammer the decks of her enemies with their rapid firing Vickers Automatic Guns. Tianlong Battlefleet Set The newest addition to The Empire is the Tianlong Battlefleet Set. If you’re looking to start an Empire force, or add to one, then this set is a battlefleet to be excited for! The Tianlong Draconic Colossus uses a combination of rotor engines and repulsion fields to remain aloft. Originally created to patrol the airspace near the Zhanmadao Sky Fortresses and Ziwei Sky Bastions, the Tianlong swoop down, their skilled crews getting the most out of these marvels of Engineering. The Tianlong can be outfitted with different weapons located in the mouth and tail. The choice of the Heavy Huoqiang or the Heat Lancette is a difficult one for most Captains to make. The Heavy gun battery can also be removed in favour of additional crew space to house a squadron of Bushi Ryu. These highly trained Samurai use rocket propelled armour to descend to assault enemy vessels in hand to hand combat. There are occasions when squadrons of Tianlong are sent on strike missions, if so they are often supported on the sea by Gong destroyers. These fast, but well armed vessels are ideal for long range, fast attacks, complimenting the Draconic Colossi well. Enlightened Support Squadron Calling all reinforcements! The Enlightened are getting their own Support Squadron, featuring the support ships seen in the Hypatia Battlefleet Set and Hunt for the Prometheus Two Player Starter Set. The support ships that escort the Flagship vessels of the Enlightened Fleets fill some very specialist roles. The Plinius Support Carrier carries dozens of Scythe Drones and can launch them from hydraulic ramps. This allows the Plinius to partially submerge when the ramps are closed making it very difficult to see and target. Built around the same hull as the Plinius are a number of other Cruisers. The Quintilian bombardment cruiser mounts heavy rockets that it can launch at distant targets before returning below the waves. While these Cruisers are able to lurk just below the surface the Diogenese and Praxilla Class Submarines are able to operate at significant depths. These large Automata operate under a number of pre-programmed subroutines and are effective at hunting down and destroying enemy vessels. Wild West Exodus This November, Wild West Exodus also has two new releases; the 3rd Edition Rules and Gubbins Set as well as the Iron Horse. Third Edition Rules and Gubbins Set Wild West Exodus has just entered its 3rd Edition, and you can bring your games up to speed with the 3rd Edition Rules and Gubbins Set this November. With everything needed to play, this set includes the 3rd Edition rulebook, Action and Adventure Card Deck, Dice and much more. Wild West Exodus is a dynamic, fast-paced tabletop miniatures game pitting a cast of heroic characters against each other in a brutal world - very much a twisted reflection of our own. In the twilight years of the Nineteenth Century, mankind is perched upon a new age of discovery and enlightenment. The Wild West Exodus Rules & Gubbins Set contains all the tools you need to play. Just grab this box and your favourite Posse (or two) and you are ready to start clashing against your opponents in the West. Wild West Iron Horses Seen in the recent new two player starter set; Showdown at Retribution, the Wild West Iron Horses will be available to pre-order in it’s own boxed set. With two build options and five faction riders available, this will be a great addition to most forces. Since Armstrong Custer’s famous charge leading the Michigan Wolverine’s at Gettysburg, the Iron Horse has become a ubiquitous machine across the frontier. Their combination of speed, firepower and durability led to a massive Union contract with the Covenant of the Enlightened during the Ore War, replacing flesh and blood horses in all cavalry regiments. Now more than a decade later, Iron Horses have become easy to obtain, with Union surplus and frontline shipments making their way onto the black market in vast numbers and the machinery itself proving to be simple to maintain with spare-parts in abundance. While older marks and models of Iron Horse prove to be a little on the temperamental side, the Iron Horse’s popularity and variety of designs can be found in use across the Union and beyond. Uniquely found in the Union arsenal, the Iron Eagle is seen by many as the pinnacle of technological evolution for the Iron Horse.More than the replacement of the RJ engine with a voltaic power plant, the Iron Eagle boasts additional armor and electro-weaponry. As the ultimate statement that the Iron Eagle represented the future of Union military prowess, Nikolai Tesla incorporated specially programmed UR-31E Automata to pilot these new machines, giving them a resilience unmatched in the field by other cavalry. Warcradle Scenics Lastly we have, from Warcradle Scenics, the Promethean Complex Set. This terrain-based set presents a secret scientific setting to the tabletop, compatible with Wild West Exodus, Warhammer 40K, Infinity and more. The Peers of the Covenant of the Enlightened often perform elaborate and sometimes dangerous experiments using the most powerful technologies known to humanity. In order to ensure that they have all the assets required for such work they typically create labyrinthine and eccentric laboratories for themselves. It is not without some irony that these sprawling structures have been collectively named Promethean Complexes. More often than not, in order to contain explosions and noise as well as retaining complete anonymity and secrecy, they build on existing mineworks or new excavations to be contained largely underground, with esoteric and blunt looking iron and steel structures jutting out across the surface forming into a small estate or settlement. 9. Daz has been hard at work painting so you know what that means, it’s Step-by-Step time again! As you may have recently seen, Warcradle Studios has released a Wild West Exodus two player starter set; Showdown at Retribution. Including two forces of detailed Warcradle miniatures from either the Enlightened or the Union, today we are focusing on the UR-31E Teslabot. Make sure to follow the steps below to achieve a finished piece of UR-31E Teslabot armour, or to help inspire your Wild West Exodus painting journey. Step 1: I start by giving the model a base coat of dark blue (P3 Exile Blue), you can use an airbrush to help speed up this process or use a heavy wetting brush if you’d prefer. Step 2: I created the first highlight by mixing a 50/50 ratio of blue (P3 Cygnar Base Blue) with our previous mix of dark blue (P3 Exile Blue). When applying I made sure to aim for the edges and flat panels. Step 3: To create the second highlight I added a 25/75 ratio of turquoise (P3 Arcane Blue) to the previous mix. I once again highlighted the edges and panels, this time leaving a little of the previous layer showing. I blended these areas roughly as I went, using a combination of feathering and stippling. At this point, I also outlined the points where different panels meet to further reinforce contrast. Step 4: For a further layer of highlighting, I added 25/75 blue white (P3 Frostbite) to the previous mix and repeated the process, again leaving a little of the previous layer showing just like before. Step 5: I applied the final highlight with a watered down layer (50/50) of P3 Frostbite concentrating on the uppermost edges and corners. And… we can call this as good as done! Read on for final touches. Step 6: I added some quick chips and dings with watered down black (P3 Thamar Black), all the best armour has at least some wear! Step 7: I made sure to give all corners, high edges and the undersides of the chips a thin highlight of P3 Frostbite. Step 8: Next, I applied a dark shade of red (P3 Sanguine Base) to the deepest recesses to suggest wear and to add interest. Step 9: Finally, I gave all areas of the miniature a very thin glaze of 10/90 Cygnar Base Blue to tie everything together. And we’re done! Excited to get your hands on your own UR-31E Teslabots? Make sure to pre-order your Showdown at Retribution Two Player Set at your FLGS or Wayland games online now. You may be thinking, who's that is with Morgan? Well, in true Scarface style, say hello to Morgan's little friend! Assisting this marvellous mechanical man in every tabletop battle is his trusty HWK Automata, Hawkshaw. You get a force not to be reckoned with. Of course. Be sure to pre-order this dynamic duo to quite literally bring some Armoured Justice to the town of Red Oak. Mythos The Game: Silver Venators Have you succumbed to the madness that is Mythos? Do you hunger for more factions to collect? Then we have good news. It's time to introduce another faction joining the Shadow War and the miniatures that form: the Silver Venators. The Venators arrived around the same time as the Custos Crypta. They're a coven of masked huntresses who travel the angles of time as their master's demand. Each Venator is entrusted with a silvered key, an object attuned to their masters and own Mythos energies. Exploiting the powers of portal travel, they're able to emerge at preordained points in time to destroy followers of the Old Ones. These powerful women of wonder are protectors of destiny with one aim: restore the flow of time and bring order to the chaos caused by the Shadow War. At. All. Costs. Their miniatures are purposely cloaked, disguised by dark hooded robes and reflective silver face coverings to evoke anonymity and unease. Intensified by the large, brightly polished weapons that they wield. The addition of two Tyndaly'th Hounds completes the Silver Venators Faction Starter Set. Once a victim has been marked by the Venators sword, they can call on these dreadful and difficult beasts. But, only ever as a weapon of last resort or they risk falling prey themselves... Be sure to pre-order the unrelenting Silver Venators from your FLGS or online at Wayland Games to add them to your Mythos miniatures collection. Due to be released at the end of August 2020. Girauld’s real passion lay in animal physiology and his personal menagerie was home to some impressive specimens. Showing a talent for specimen capture, he was approached by Warick Hudson and earned a sponsorship into the Covenant as an associate following his collaboration on the spectral containment technology with Hudson and Katherine Holst. 17. As the situation with the coronavirus COVID-19 continues to develop and the United Kingdom enters a further extended period of social isolation, we've been following the advice and instruction of the Government closely. As we announced previously, we have already shut down our in-house manufacturing department until we are confident it is right for our team to be able to return to work. The safety of our staff is paramount, and last week we decided it's in the best interest of the wider team to close the rest of the Studio too. As you may remember, back in February, we shared an update with you regarding the current state of events. The effect of this resulted in a delay in our plans in the second quarter of the year to launch the new edition of Dystopian Wars. The continued disruption caused in response to the pandemic means we must reschedule our plans through to the end of the third quarter too. You may hear from those in the Warcradle Studios team who are working remotely, keeping in touch with the community through social media during this time and putting together occasional Studio Diaries for the blog (like this one). That aside, all development, playtesting and design work at Warcradle Studios is on pause until we are confident it is practical and safe to resume. Those of you ordering directly from our retail partners and ourselves can rest assured you'll still receive your in-stock item(s). With a great deal of care, we have put processes in place to protect our warehouse and logistics staff so we can continue to dispatch in-stock orders, with as small a delay as possible. Warcradle products listed as "being reprinted" may be significantly delayed, as a result of us closing our in-house manufacturing department at this time. Nevertheless, these will be of high-priority when we're back up and running. Of course, our customer support team are still available to contact and are ready to answer any questions you might have, so don't hesitate to get in touch should you need to. We'll be keeping you all up-to-date as the situation develops, so be sure to keep an eye on our blog and social media. Of particular regret is that while the rules for Firestorm Armada are ready for our intended Open Beta in May, we must now accept that without a Studio running to support the Beta, and with players facing challenges in arranging even a simple gaming session to playtest, we must delay the launch until the Studio returns to full operation and the social distancing guidelines become less restrictive. We will announce a new date as soon as possible. In the interim, we hope to be discussing various rules and concepts through our social media pages as well as on the Studio Diary blog entries. Call it a pre-Beta Beta… Whatever Warcradle hobby you are enjoying this month, whether you're tackling your new Mythos models, assembling Theodore Roosevelt on his reptilian steed, or painting fleets of classic Dystopian Wars or Firestorm Armada ships, be sure to share your results with us and the rest of the community. This hobby of ours has an amazing ability to bring joy and light into even the most challenging of times. We hope you find that moment of hobby happiness in whatever you choose to do. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this unprecedented situation. Now more than ever, please take care of yourselves and each other. 18. It's time to reveal the 2020 event miniature resembling a famous figure from history; it's Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt! Those of you that guessed correctly from the misty image we shared, bravo. Racing through the jungle on his Trodon steed, an incredible prehistoric-looking creature, Theodore Roosevelt is ready to venture into the wider Dystopian Age. You'll be able to purchase Theodore online direct from the Wild West Exodus website after 9:30 am (UK Time) on the 26th of March. At the moment, this miniature will be available to purchase online-only, due to the event schedule changing rapidly in line with the current Coronavirus situation - more on that below. There's no denying this is a magnificent miniature and an excellent addition to any collection, take a look: Theodore Roosevelt - Lost World Explorer “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." Price: £17.00 Theodore Roosevelt - Lost World Explorer, is the 2020 event-promotional miniature by Warcradle Studios. Just like Jadzia before him, Theodore's designed for use in both Wild West Exodus and forthcoming Lost World Exodus. If there are no events, how can I get the miniature? Of course, this year is a little more complicated as the event schedule is changing rapidly in line with the global Coronavirus situation. Both Adepticon in the US, and Salute in the UK, are cancelled for 2020. The next show we were going to attend, the UK Games Expo, is now rescheduled for later this year. We've worked hard to make the miniature available to players in a way that is fair but still keeps it an exclusive promotional release. The 2020 promotional miniature will go on sale online from the 26th March 2020 at www.store.wildwestexodus.com. The miniature will remain available to purchase online until the end of the next show that Warcradle Studios attends. At the moment that looks like GenCon 2020 in Indianapolis ending on the 2nd of August. Of course, this may change, in which case the 2020 promotional miniature will remain available online until the close of the show following that. As of right now, the next show we will attend after GenCon 2020 looks to be the UK Games Expo commencing on the 21st of August until the 23rd of August. What happens once shows are back up-and-running? At the end of the next show, Warcradle Studio attends, availability of the 2020 promotional miniature will return back-to-normal; the miniature will only be available for the duration of each show we attend. For details about the events that we'll be attending during the 2020/2021 season, keep an eye on our blog and socials, and be sure to check the Warcradle Studios community calendar regularly. 20. Embrace the Hex. Marie Laveau is supreme. At long last, we welcome the self-proclaimed queen of the Nazombu, Marie Laveau, and her companion’s to Wild West Exodus! She holds sway over hundreds of families, not as a dictator but as a mother, sister and friend. The form she wears is but a glamour, a product of her ‘Magick’ that allows her to interact with outsiders without them running in abject terror from her monstrous true nature. Court Of The Nazombu is the name of her Posse, a new set for the Hex, consisting of the queen herself, her now-dependable husband, a devoted voodoo priestess and oracle, and finally, the master of the dead. Laveau and her Nazombu Warriors often take safe-haven in the swamp-lands of the Nazombu Bayou, thriving among the Rotten Jetties and Abandoned Shacks, drawing power from essence embued Hexaliths. Today also sees two new support units available to pre-order; Raider/Hex Sharpshooters and Deputised Support Team. All of next month’s releases are available to pre-order online now and from your FLGS - to be released on the 25th January 2020. Don’t forget, our seasonal miniatures (and Max) have returned; they’re available to purchase from the Wild West Exodus webstore and from your FLGS now, until the 31st of December. The Court of Nazombu Posse The power of the Hex can be a subtle influence on those who only occasionally draw on its energies. To those like Marie Laveau and her coterie who fully embrace the entity, they wield awesome power. Across the bayous of Louisianna, the self-proclaimed queen of the Nazombu, Marie Laveau is supreme. She holds sway over hundreds of families, not as a dictator but as a mother, sister and friend. This has been the way for generations, ever since a strange egg was found deep in the swamps. Read the full description here. Price: £35.00 Deputised Support Team The budget and funding to supply Deputies is sporadic, to say the least. Most deputies typically bring their own shooting irons with them if they are called up, but some situations call for the big guns to be unpacked. Read the full description here. Price: £15.00 Raider / Hex Sharpshooters While revolvers and rifles are commonplace throughout the West, heavier, more specialist weapons can be difficult to come by. Many outlaws simply steal the weapons they need while others carry relics from the Ore War that have been lovingly maintained over the intervening years. Read the full description here. 21. From the fairy lights around her mechanical steed’s neck to the present filled sack on her back, Madre Navidad is not only bringing a highly flammable pudding to your tabletop; she's bringing a whole lot of Holiday Cheer. This very merry alternative sculpt of Madre Monica Perez is the Outlaw claiming this year's festive crown. If you successfully guessed the 2019 festive miniature from The Countdown clues, congratulations! Now, let's take a closer look. Introducing Madre Navidad Dashing through the snow on her heavily armoured 'reindeer', Madre Navidad can often be seen delivering toys to well-behaved children in the farmsteads around Rio Senora. The thunder heard late at night is said to be the Madre destroying Hex-Beasts and other abominations with her explosive puddings. Can’t have that cake and eat it, Hex! The red eye-lights of her mechanical steed lead the way through even the darkest of nights taking her to wherever she is needed most - this is one 'reindeer' you'll want to join in on all of your Wild West Exodus games. Only available throughout December, Madre Navidad is the third special edition miniature from Warcradle Studios, for the festive period. It's the return of Kyle, Max and Krampus! Alongside this cracking new model, Kyle the Red & White with his beard so snowy white, and Krampus Rex with his horned shadow bringing fright also make their return. Not forgetting Max, the particularly quirky K9 Attack Dog. If you're looking to collect all three seasonal miniatures and Max, they'll be available to purchase until the 31st of December. 22. “Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire . . . is . . . soooooo . . . delightfuuuuuul…” - Bud “Scorcher” Hutch It’s that time of year again folks! The evenings are drawing in and the chill of winter is starting to creep into your bones. It must be time for the Warcradle Festive Miniature! As a reminder of years gone by I would like to begin by taking a look at our previous offerings. Our first Festive Miniature was Kyle the Red and White. This lovable old rogue would slide down your chimney and steal all your presents, but he will also act as an alternative boss for your games of Wild West Exodus along with his little helper, Max the K9 Automata. Ho! Ho! Holy mother of . . . Who is that?! Last year we treated you to this tasty little morsel - Krampus Rex. This particularly nasty looking chap will definitely add some spice to your Christmas punch. Again not only is Krampus Rex a great miniature to paint and collect, but you can also use him as a Boss in your Wild West Exodus games. Ice creams! Lollipops! All free today… For our third Festive Miniature, we ran a campaign that finished at the end of October, the outcome of which decided the faction we would choose the miniature from. This means that you, the players, could affect the outcome by playing games with your chosen faction. The winning faction for that campaign was the Outlaws, so we picked an Outlaw Boss to re-invent for this year’s Festive Season. After some (not a lot actually) deliberation we decided on Madre Monica Perez to be this year’s miniature and we’ve named her Madre Navidad. Of course, we needed to add a little bit of Christmas Magic so we have given her a Christmas Pudding packed with explosives, a festive wreath for her shield, fairy lights, a Santa hat and a sack full of toys (with another little surprise inside). We also converted her Blackhoof into a reindeer with some RJ powered antlers. Madre Navidad - ready to spread Christmas cheer and shrapnel We hope you like Madre Navidad and if so keep your eyes peeled for the official announcement tomorrow. Stay tuned for next week’s Studio Diary, Chris View the full article

  24. For centuries the Order of the Allshard has waged their Crusade against the Hex at the fringes of human civilisation. Only in recent years has the Order’s technology and influence grown to the point that they can now look to root out the Hex’s malign influence in Great Powers of the Dystopian Age. When creating the background to a game, we get snapshots of a culture as required through the miniatures and rules. The Dystopian Age is a more complex proposition in this regard as it requires a narrative to act as the setting for multiple games. Let’s look at the Order of the Allshard as one such narrative link. A primary faction for Wild West Exodus the secretive nature of the Order (as they are more commonly known) means that their presence beyond the Badlands of the Union is rare to say the least. More on that a little later though! In Wild West Exodus, we have established a range of miniatures to support those parts of the Order that might be encountered on the Frontier. The Order are seen to be stepping up their offensive against those who would stand in the way of their sacred Crusade. Part of the difficulty that the Order have faced is that agents of the Hex can be found throughout the social and military structures of the Union and have been able to travel the country with impunity. Now those same self-serving agents of chaos find themselves hunted by an implacable and resolute force. Recruiting predominantly from the indigenous tribes, the Spica Iapetus are the ultimate trackers and hunters of the tainted. Iron resolve matched with the weapons and wargear entrusted to them by the Allshard, Sicran Dylan Callus leads his hunters to use every tool at their disposal. In addition to hunting those touched by the Hex, the Iapetus are entrusted with the handling and training of the various animals that aid them in their Crusade. The Dhyre Lurchers and Helio Raptors are two such species, specially bred and conditioned over the centuries to be able to track and attack those marked by the taint of the Hex. Though their true mission is obfuscated beneath layers of doctrine and parables, the Order has remained a fringe religion in the wider world. Only in the Ottoman Sultanate have the Order found a strong foothold outside of their Bastion in North America. This was made possible in 1867 when the Order, monitoring Greek separatists with links to the Hex, witnessed an attack by the separatists on the city of Edirne. While conducting observations, Sircan Callus was in a position to save the life of an imperilled young man. In this apparently selfless act, Callus won the gratitude of the young man’s father, a senior member of the Sublime Porte of the Sultanate. Soon after this Callus was summoned to Istanbul to meet with the Sultan himself, and it is thanks to Callus’ persuasive words and sharp wit that the Order now enjoys an unprecedented level of access and open influence in the Sultanate. The Order of the Allshard are one of the recognised religions in the Sultanate and have influenced both within the Sublime Porte and in the Sultan’s court itself. The Sultan enjoys the protection of a pair of Cor Caroli as ever vigilant bodyguard and an entire regiment of fearless Spica Janissaries who are trained to fight and die for the Sultanate. The Order’s growing influence is resisted most strongly by Grand Vizier Pasha who has continued to frustrate some of the Order’s more dramatic reform proposals. He blocked their latest request for parity in the religious councils of the Sultanate, and frustrated the Order’s carefully orchestrated plans to place faithful observers within the halls of each of the Emirs and Satraps who govern the outer provinces of the Ottoman domain. While the Order have access to their own unique and advanced technology, they lack the resources of even a small nation and cannot field substantial armies or fleets of their own. They are growing in influence and confidence in this area however and already their Retaj class Portalships along with the patrolling Cor Carolus destroyers are proving to be a boon to Sultanate naval operations. Though the Order usually only deploy a handful of these vessels to any given campaign, it cannot be long before their influence in the Sultanate provides the necessary shipyards and workers to rectify this. The technologically advanced Retaj class Portalship. A rare but impressive ally to the Sultanate in their naval ambitions. Mysterious and lethal, these silent hunters have no discernable crew on deck and never respond to communications from other Sultanate vessels. The Order are but a small element of the Sultanate faction (virtually a niche within a niche!), but their very existence in Dystopian Wars helps draw the narrative threads of the Dystopian Age together into a rich tapestry. Expect to see a smattering of Order units supplementing the Sultanate’s varied forces in Lost World Exodus as well as Armoured Clash in the years to come. Stuart View the full article
  25. On Saturday 19th October, 14 players from across the country congregated in Southampton with the sole aim of fighting for the UK Gunslinger Masters, it had all the makings of an exciting and enjoyable tournament. Now is probably a good time to mention that this is only the second year that the event has run, however, it had the attributes of a far more well-established affair, one that I hope will grow and continue to run for many years to come. We were fortunate enough to have attracted a good mix of players. We’d hoped for a range of factions, so we were pleased with the final numbers, with the players finalised, we were ready to begin. We were all eager to get going, and so dived straight into three rounds of games without hesitation, all of which lasted for 2 hours. Firstly, we got started with a ‘Stake a claim’ scenario, next up was ‘Send a message’ and finally, we finished up with ‘Supply run’. Experiencing a mix of posses really gave the games something special in my opinion! I particularly enjoyed seeing a Union armoured division and also the Christmas themed Wendigo Carcossa posse, and to make matters even better, not a single boss was duplicated. Regardless of any results, it was great to see all of the scenery and miniatures and lovely to spend some time with other Wild West Exodus enthusiasts, it isn’t something many people get to do every day. Annie Mozee is definitely a worthy recipient of ‘star face of the day’, not only did she feature in three of the posses, but she also managed some horrifying shots, like the one where she managed to shoot Stonewall Jackson from the middle of a pack of Gun dogs and Dixie snipers. Alongside Annie, David Richardson and Ben Clouder deserve a special mention for helping to set up. Last, but by no means least, a big thank you to Chris Pond for coming down to help and chat with the players! Leaderboard Summary Of course, a special congratulations is also in order for those players who made it into the top 5, however, in my opinion, congratulations should be extended to all those who took part in the tournament. Take a look at some of the results below. Overall, it was an action-packed day, where everyone seemed to have a brilliant time, and for those reasons, it will definitely be an event to remember. If you’re a fan then take a look at some of the results, and if you haven’t already, be sure to give Wild West Exodus a go, you never know I might see you at another event sometime in the future! ~ Alex, The Warhost The Warhost Volunteer Programme Whether you're looking to take part in Wil West Exodus events or become a Warhost Volunteer and host them, you can register your interest today and find out more.
