  1. Thanks for the kind words all @CoffeeGrunt Vitriol? I can't think what you mean... I actually chose to dye my hair grey so I guess we'll never know the true extent of the stress I've been under!
  2. Of course we do understand that, but you don't have to have an account to look at our page and stay up to date with the latest news We do always try to share this across our blogs and the forum too. And of course, if you want to join in the discussion, you can do that right here on the forum, there's no need to feel left out because you don't use other platforms. As we're a smaller team, we're simply trying to be efficient in minimising the comments and sites we have to cover and moderate.
  3. Hi all, Just a quick one to say that Thursday 27th is actually my last day with Spartan Games, so after this date, please don't direct any queries towards me (e.g. to my email address or this account) as I would hate for them to get missed. Although I'm sure my email will be checked periodically, you'll receive a much quicker and more direct answer from other relevant channels. All order queries, as usual, should be directed to our Despatch email address, and any queries regarding adding Corinthian Club free gifts to orders and so on should also be directed there. We're still working out some of the other details, but until we do, any other inquiries (after Thursday) should be directed to the Marketing email address. My time at SG has been great fun and it's been lovely getting to know so many of you, meeting you at events and helping you to satisfy those resin cravings! All the best for the future
  4. Hi all, as more orders were placed to qualify for the free scenery pack than were anticipated, we ended up having to redo the moulds for the scenery pack to accommodate for this (it's a very long story, and not being part of the manufacturing team, not one I fully understand myself, so we'll leave it there ). Unfortunately this of course meant some orders were delayed. To prevent customers being further affected by this, we have sent out some orders without scenery packs and will be sending them separately as soon as they are ready. Many of these have already been sent out so it may be that yours is already in the post if it has not yet arrived. I can only apologise for any orders that continue to be delayed. I have been out of the office all of last week but as I understand it, unfortunately our online store has been experiencing some issues over the last week due to the DDOS issues our American store host site have had. They are in the process of fixing this now, and while we have connectivity to our store, it has been patchy to say the least. We're very sorry about all of this, and please rest assured we're working with them to get it back up and running as soon as possible.
  5. Hi Andy, I think I've emailed you regarding this, but for anyone else having this problem - please don't worry. If there is an issue with your coupon code, you can simply put the code in the order comments box, and to be on the safe side, email our despatch department too (despatch@spartangames.co.uk). I'm afraid Thursday 27th is my last day with Spartan Games, so please avoid using my email address after this date (beth@spartangames.co.uk) as although it will be checked periodically, you will receive a quicker response from Despatch.
  6. Hi all, we don't allow comments on our blog entries, to avoid missing anything - we use the more well-know platforms of Facebook and Twitter. I'm sorry this option was left on the original blog post - I have since changed it.
  7. Thank you all for your valuable comments on the Dystopian Empires Kickstarter. As you’d imagine, we hoped they would tell us you loved our new idea and would be pledging on Day 1, but we’ve learned so much from your comments that although they’re not what we were hoping for, they are incredibly valuable for us. Page one of the handbook tells us to build products that customers want to buy. We have a number of Dystopian, Firestorm and Planetfall projects already underway (new narrative, new scenery and new models) but based on your feedback yesterday we need to gather more information directly from you. So we’re working up a short new survey to ask you EXACTLY what you want now from our game systems. We thought expanding the Dystopian World through Empires would be welcomed, but it is clear you want us to do that in other ways and we want to learn what you need. Watch this space and thanks for so openly sharing your views – we are committed to responding to them. All the best, Spartan Neil.

  9. Welcome to the ultimate fusion of man and machine, welcome to the Dystopian Empires Kickstarter! Click here to find out more.
  10. @cadium yes, this is to minimise the potential for people to abuse codes. Most people order something different every time, so normally this is not an issue. If you do really want to request something a second time, you can always email us at despatch@spartangames.co.uk and request it, along with putting a comment in your order comments box.
  11. @cadium Sure, here you go. I've included the Warthog in one as a size reference - the diorama measures 8x8cm.
  12. @mark1e This is a very old guide from March 2013 - as you have said, you will find more current ones from other talented painters on the rest of the forum. However, please do remember when commenting to keep it positive and constructive
  13. @novajohn Sorry to hear that we didn't get the next quarter newsletter out in time for you John - you can always contact us and ask to add a gift to an order that you have already placed. We will be sending that newsletter out with the new gift options today, so do let us know. @slk28850 Yes, that is exactly how the club works. For example, this weekend we've run a Halo: Fleet Battled 30% deal on selected products - Corinthian Club members have been able to stack this discount on top of the standard 15% and pick up some great bargains! The free shipping threshold for our entire website is £100 pounds, regardless of whether or not you have Corinthian Club membership.
  14. Hi @cadium Unfortunately the Easter deals issue was entirely my fault, as I was still fairly new to the company and did not understand how to set the online store up correctly to allow both of these discounts to stack. I am very sorry for this. I am also sorry that you were not aware that for everybody affected by the issue of these discounts not stacking, we were happy to issue a coupon code for the value that they should have saved, to be used in our online store. As the mistake was ours, we were very happy to fix this to avoid anybody missing out and not getting the rewards they deserve. Perhaps this communication was not made widely enough to be visible to everyone, and for that we do apologise - as you've hopefully seen from our increased Facebook and blog activity, communication is something we are very much trying to improve on. We do also have further deals planned for later on in the year, and as this is the first year we have run this scheme, we would be the first to put our hands up and admit that this is very much still alike to a teething process. We are trying to work out what works best for you all and how we can run it alongside everything else that we do. Advanced news and sneak peeks is not something that we were or are able to promise to the Corinthian Club, as our release schedule is subject to change until announced, and sometimes this does take place at the eleventh hour. The club benefits are exactly as stated on the shop description, to avoid any confusion. The main benefit is, of course, the 15% off, which we particularly hoped would make it easier for customers purchasing from outside the UK who often get hit by high shipping costs and long delivery times. As I say, the Club is in it's first year, so we will very much be assessing its performance and functionality in March next year (once it has run a full year) and be looking at any changes or improvements that we can make.
  15. @Secundum The despatch inbox is checked every day, but sometimes we may not respond to your email for a few days in order to check stock levels and production times first. We do also close over weekends and our despatch manager doesn't work Friday, so we do ask that you give us a week or so to get to your email. She will get back to you as soon as she can, but if you really do feel that the wait has been longer than acceptable, you are welcome to email me or call the office.
  16. Hi all, just a quick one to say we'll be announcing the new gift list soon so keep an eye out! @cadium I'm really sorry you feel this way. The club membership is designed to provide you with a free gift each quarter, and 15% off our online store. We're sorry that you feel our release schedule hasn't quite provided you with the upgrades that you wanted to purchase, but we hope you've enjoyed the benefits of the club. If you ever have any problems with your membership, you are always welcome to email me. In regards to the lack of releases for some of our games, we hope that you've seen from our Facebook and blogs how this is changing. We've announced a lot of news and developments lately, including launching brand new campaigns for our Dystopian and Firestorm Worlds, and these will be supported with new models very soon. If you'd like to discuss this further, please do so in another thread however, so that this one stays on topic
  17. As I said Frans, we made the decision we had to make. We are sorry you feel this way, and I hope you continue to enjoy gaming with other companies who have not "burned" you in the same way.
  18. @Frans I'm sorry Frans, but without explaining to you the minute ins and outs of our production process and how it's changed since the time of UCS, I cannot give you a more satisfactory answer. For one thing, our entire moulding process has changed and it would have been ludicrous to remake UCS moulds for the very, very small handful of people that might have purchased them. As a company who had such a dedicated following to this game, if there had been a viable way for us to continue supporting the game, we absolutely would have, and everything was done to explore this. It was an unbelievably hard decision that we had to make, and not one made lightly. After all, it makes no sense for us to stop producing a game that we ourselves were very proud of, had there been any way around this. As it is, unfortunately we are going around in circles with this discussion, and it is best left here. Again, I'm sorry I cannot give you a more satisfactory answer. I ask only that you trust in our ability as a company to make financially viable decisions - there was nothing we could have done, and we are sorry for this.
  19. @Necroscourge Please don't put words into my mouth When I said that we don't have the resources, that is absolutely what I meant. Not only do we not create the models in the correct software needed for conversion to computer simulation, we do not have the staff or the time available to invest in this process, as it's not our main focus and our staff are kept very much occupied on other projects. More or less as Mr.K and Charbe86 have explained.
  20. @Frans We would have loved to continue making the models available Frans, but for the very small amount of people who were continuing to purchase them, us paying for the raw materials, production, labour, package and postage costs for these models simply was no longer viable, as we explained. We would almost certainly have lost money on the game, had we continued to make it. We don't offer a print-on-demand service because given that this is not our primary method of production, we only have 2 3D printers in house, and they are occupied permanently printing resources for new releases and so on. For us to do this would also be incredibly uneconomical, as the price we'd have to charge to afford to offer this service, would make these models seem an awful lot less friendly! Unfortunately we're also unable to pass our designs onto other printers, due to copyright. I hope these answers, whilst a little negative, help you to understand where we're coming from.
  21. Hi Charbe, thanks for the suggestion. We think this is a really cool idea, but as a company this isn't where our focus is, and we don't have the resources to do this. Maybe one to think about for the future!
  22. Hi fbruntz, I'm sorry for the confusion. My post was intended to explain that we currently have no plans to bring back UCS as a fully-supported, purchasable game. As Neil has said, we do still have various resources for it left over, such as the new rules version. We would like to make them available to you all, but they would be a free download intended as a gift to any remaining players of the game - not a new release or suggestion that the game is being brought back. As they are a side-project for us, they have not been considered part of our release schedule, and so we hope to make them available when we have the time to do so.
  23. Hi guys, I'm sorry to disappoint you all, but there are no plans for the foreseeable future to bring back Uncharted Seas. As Neil's said, it's a real shame for us, and something we do feel very sorry about, that we couldn't continue producing the game, but unfortunately it just wasn't selling enough for us to be able to keep it going. As you can see, it's something Neil does feel passionately about, so I suppose the phrase 'never say never' applies here, but I do have to reiterate that there are no plans at the moment. I'm sorry for the disappointment but I want to be clear on this, in order to avoid anyone getting their hopes up and being let down.

    Battleboard

These are both beautiful boards - and @varnos I have to say, as a former textiles and design student, that bag is not only a really good idea, but so nicely finished! Awesome work.
  25. @Drachinifel I'm really sorry to hear that you didn't receive a response from us regarding sponsorship for your event. I handle all our marketing and promotional requests and aim to respond to every one, whether it's a negative or positive answer. I am sorry that we missed yours. Can you confirm for me whether you emailed myself or another email address? If you could PM me some details, I will look into this for you and find out what happened.
