  1. How about squadron support? give some extra activations and having a large air unit with little subs (or something) modeled to be dangling off the bottom of it would look pretty cool.
  2. I really like the design, it's kinda cute (not what you're looking for in a warship but still). hopefully the broadsides get redoubtable so it has some clout in Rb1. My main complaint would be that they specifically refer to a low silhouette in the initial description and it's clearly tall enough to have altered silhouette (large) as a MAR.
  3. I'd like either medium sub aurcraft carriers or ones with solild anti-air capabilities .
  4. I think activations appeal to most players, so having it come with little ships/subs helps sell it. you could give it combat coordinator sustained fire, but only for the wee ships it brings so that players are encouraged to keep them around it, so the whole thing acts like it's own wee battlegroup. personally I'd give the wee ships volleyguns/torpedoes and the big ship both. Make it a rb2-3 brawler, so it's useful to everyone. If it's submersible I like the idea of it having a canopy that's open when it's on the surface but closed otherwise.
  5. Or got kicked out for behaviour not beffiting of a gentleman. Yeah that would be really cool as it would be almost like him bringing his own little navy to the table.
  6. Just a thought, but what about a special character mercenary squadron like Esmeralda? Could be an eccentric British nobleman in his custom battleship. A trio of sisters in their cruisers etc. Could be fun to come up with a backstory for the individual/s in question and it would mean that everyone can potentially purchase the model (if you decide to go that route).
  7. Personally I'd like to see the Vengeance and Vanguard subs gain advanced engines 2" (with the vengeance losing sturginium boost). Every game I play with them ends up in exactly the same situation, if I move the minimum 2" I can't fire my torps as I'm in RB1, but I'm about 1" outside of ramming distance. It's deeply frustrating, love these models but having them spending a turn twiddling their thumbs makes it hard to justify them.
  8. My favourites would be as follows: Naval: Stalwart destroyers, they've never let me down in a game. Typically blowing something of value clear out of the water then taking much more punishment than they've any right taking. Aerial: Halifax, another unit that draws a lot of firepower but refuses to die. Also tends to finish off expensive things. Armoured: never actually played a game but appearance wise the foxhound is very cool.
  9. Sorry if this has been answered before but I had a look and couldn't see it anywhere. Is there a reason the British and Japanese landing fields have 9 hit points and everyone else's have 6? Just seems strange to me since they all cost the same.
  10. Anyone can fight anyone, and ally with anyone. People are also free to backstab said allies.
  11. As Merlin said we're in Northern Ireland. We've had a couple of new people start up recently so I thought a campaign would be a good way to introduce them to the game and meet the veteran players.
  12. So we've recently stated a campaign in my local area. I thought I'd post up information about it here for anyone who is interested The rules for the campaign can be found in the link below: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q2o1t151m645yp8/Trouble%20in%20Paradise%20Complete.pdf?dl=0 We're fighting over the Banda Sea in Indonesia, below is a map showing the starting territories of the various nations:
  13. I designed a few resources to help some new players starting up in my local area and thought I'd share them on the forum. The first is an excel Fleet Manager I designed. I hope it's fairly intuitive but if you've any problems let me know. It's currently up to date for all the major factions and the minor powers that have had new ORBATS. I plan to update it as new ORBATS come out. The Admirals Handbook: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gcly9wjkqhy9flm/The%20Admirals%20Handbook.xlsm?dl=0 The next is a set of cards for all the Major Factions and the minor ones who've had ORBATS brought out recently. Again I'll be updating them as new OBATS come out. I focused on the Naval and Aerial units as land doesn't really see play in my area, so currently only KoB, EotBS, PE and CoA have full card lists (of the Major powers). I'll be updating the others over the next few days all being well. I cut and paste the ORBAT to cut down on the possibility of error but if you see anything amiss please let me know and I'll fix it. One thing to note is my cards are double sided so be careful when printing them out that you get them the right way round. 14. Carrier looks amazing! It'll be a welcome addition to my Danish fleet.
