  1. Unfortunately the 2nd edition models didn't get a chance to get much traction before Spartan shut the range down for a rethink. It's a real pity because a lot of the resculpts were very good. Sadly at the time they were released they pretty much disappeared under the mountain of Spartan's other releases so very few people even noticed they were there before they were gone. I do not believe that Warcradle got the digital files for the resculpts based on what has been said. They certainly don't seem to have got any functional moulds for them as UCS has been noticeably absent from the Warcradle store.
  2. They're available on the Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/theunchartedseas/
  3. Heya, Lovely first fleet but I have a feeling the assault cruiser is in reverse
  4. The August 12 blog post - https://blog.warcradle.com/blog/2020/warcradle-studios-diary-32 - confirmed that UCS is on the back burner now: "While some games will have to enter an extended period of ‘Development Hell’ being removed from our current release schedule (Planetfall and Uncharted Seas) and others will see themselves looking at delays into late 2021 and beyond (Lost World Exodus and Armoured Clash) as we open up space in the schedule to make certain we can support Dystopian Wars and Firestorm Armada in the right way." The last iteration of the UCS rules (the hardback version) are pretty much solid as is so the best option we have for now is to continue playing those rules knowing there won't be any rules changes, or new models sadly, for at least another year and quite likely longer. Our club has decided to play UCS regularly as it stands and I have reverted to conversions to fill gaps in the couple of fleets I currently have.
  5. Not a great photo, sorry, but got my first Naval Battlegroup finished
  6. Sneaky idea, I like it and I do have a fair few Britannian turrets lying around
  7. Hi, It would appear that I have no Tambov models for my Russians but a fair number of Suvorovs. Has anyone tried converting Suvorovs to Tambovs or have any suggestions? Thanks
  8. I've had some good results with the yellow over shaded silver in the past - nice and bright but doesn't look like gold though
  9. How solid is the fortress? Does it require pinning?
  10. Finally got the box back out and restarted work on my scenery for Dystopian Wars Parts come from the old scenery sets, Dreadfleet, and Brigade Models I've put the top off the second drilling rig to one side to build a version of the big Sturginium Rig
  11. Hi everyone, it's nice to be back How long have you been playing these games? Only Dystopian Wars to now, for 3 or 4 years Where do you play? Mainly at home Which fleets and armies do you own? Which fleets and armies do you plan to add to your collection? Far too many tbh, Russian, French, FSA, Prussian, got far too many incomplete/unpainted models in the to-do pile
  12. 10mm is a difficult scale to find commercial terrain for but it's small enough to scratchbuild fairly easily and quickly. A lot will depend on the settings used. If Armoured Clash sticks to the underpopulated areas there won't be much need for many buildings. C19 colonial era buildings are pretty simple designs, though they do need a lot of corrugated roofs. Hmmm, maybe this thread should be in the scenery folder
  13. We've actually found the Campaign Booklet from Operation Shadow Hunter really helpful for staging up the complexity nice and slowly.
  14. Darn, missed that one completely
  15. I use stronger reading glasses than I could use to read with. It does reduce your depth of field somewhat (which increases the risk of spillage incidents from bumping the side of the jar / bottle) but overall I'm very happy with the method.
  16. To you maybe. Your opinion. Not fact. I think both the giant Samurai and it's friends look very silly, and somewhat out of place in DW, whereas Madame Liberté and the Windsor both look amazing.
  17. It's a visual representation that feeds info to your brain about what is happening. Ranks of 2mm infantry might have been a better choice for interpretation.
  18. I love the idea of them as supreme examples of crazy Victorian mad science. Wonderful centre-piece models and some of them even make sense from their national backgrounds. From a modelling and painting point-of-view they're great and I am jealous of those that have theirs already. However. They have obviously not been play-tested rigorously enough. Their balance is out of whack both between themselves and towards the rest of the game. Some of them will fit in happily with no significant changes the the DW meta, not much more than being a land capable dreadnought, but not all. It's right that their first appearances cause a little chaos. They are a new category after all. Things should settle down fairly quickly as people get used to how they play, how to use them, and what works when you're facing them. After that I would fully expect a quick balancing pass to restat them and bring them fully into the fold.
  19. And now I have a vision of a Windsor having its guns loaded up with canned pineapples. Definitely didn't get enough sleep last night
  20. Perfect! Could be an awesome diorama build Alternately a modified lend-lease John Henry might be enough. Hmmm, why is Britannia depending on the FSA here?
