    Carriers

Are the Secret Base and the Land Airfield the same size? On the topic: I'm new with the Blazing(an unhappy covenant before) but the tenkei seems to me the best choice for a carrier on ours fleets, still missing the model but I'll take one soon.

  4. Is 1250 the "standard" format for a game? Here in my club we're using 1k points and it works quite good, 2 and half hours(up to 3), if we play with more points I fear that a single game could last too much. How much it takes? 3 Diophantus is really good idea, I have the same(but with 1k points), you named it well, who needs friends when you have plenty of drones? =D
  5. Wait wait, Advance isn't good for tactic: deploy them before normal deployment gives the other player a great advantage. Island, these are missing a lot, with the rules for building the table we are playing with 1 to 3 islands on the table, not so much to take cover behind(I'm very unlucky at this 5+ roll...so a deploy only 1, 2 when I get best rolls). Because my point of view lacks in experience on the battlefield I was asking you to bear some example based on match and not on thoughts =)
  6. Hi all Illuminated Admirals(we are the covenant! =D), I was trying to figure out if that tactics really works, unfortunately I've not so much time for a sufficient number of match, so I ask you. Zeno: the strongest unit we have but 3 roll on a 4+ really suck, random facing with this fat guys it's hard to manage, losing ap while poping-out near enemy models with 90point capital sounds like "you lose". Cleo: don't get the models yet so never thought about them, but they seem more a counter-boarding unit and same problem of the zeno Thales: standard corvette, but 5 roll can ruin a boarding attempt, losing ap can reduce to 0ap. Plutarch: teleport only for shooting, so losing ap is not a big trouble for them. Then one more question: how do you field Zeno? I've tryed flanking, 3 times: 2 times at turn 3, one against prussians one against russians; they arrived vs PE a little too late, they were too far away; vs RC they get perfect timing, they popup on the side of his carrier. 1 times vs LoIS, turn 1, they PA cinqueada, uccisore and the 3 cruisers, some glancing hit, they where totally blown up at the beginning of turn 2. Advance deployment isn't a good option, standard is good for the time orb(which is bad for my opinion), reserve?
  7. Thank guys! You are awesome! =D Ater thanks for the references&quotes from the rulebook.
  8. No they don't. It's possible for a normal carrier SQUADRON(such as the China's one) to stack each carrier point to form larger wing of sas, but drone launcher doesn't mention it, and at the moment a squadron of drone launcher is still missing(either for armored).
  9. Any rulebook references? =) Because a like yours answers but my friend not =D
  10. Hi all admirals! I'm playing a lot with PA, trying to maximize it as much as I can, fielding 1 Aristotle 1 Diophantus & 3 Zeno, great weapon indeed. But how does it work against model occupying the submerged level? Are indiscriminate attack "immune" in some way to the "always partially blocked" when firing to diving? If it suffers normal penalty they are a little(a lot) weak against diving models. Just one more question: PA & time flow gen A model under or behind the template gets only half of the AD by a PA?
  11. Hi captains, as the title says, I've a question about our doctrine and the tac "lost order": how do they work together? Are those cards put aside still "in hand"? May I chose one random card pointing at one of the two? It's a covenant advantage to see these 2 tac but they are still subject to the same rules as a normal TAC Hand. What's your opinion?
  12. Thanks Nat! I was getting mad for those 3 lines! sorry for my silly problem =)
  13. And that clear the question about terrains. But I'm looking for the part in the rules that says that flyers can see through other "models". Thank for help.
  14. Sorry Lord Nat but I can't find it either. Section c4 is the "firing" section. Part 3 is "resolving auxiliary fire" Can't find anything about that =(
  15. I use to take out as my Commodore in every match, it was good and tricky with the mine controller, now it is only a gunship, very expensive and still fragile, ok now you can link mine, but the old can place mine in front of enemy ship and from distance and with some alea escort it can drop lot of mines and "close" the way to him.
