  1. It stifles the Gunships a touch, they have absurd mines which can be a risk to use the turn they reveal.
  2. To be fair, there's enough FF kinetic there to force damage, or even crits, through the cloak on the tier 2 Relthorza stuff.
  3. This is a list I threw out in a thread a while a go, possibly worth a look. Xiphos w/ +1"Mv, +2 Wings & Weapon Shielding + Falcata (190) Xiphos w/ +1"Mv, +2 Wings & Weapon Shielding + Falcata (190) 4 Falcata (240) 5 Plumbata (100) That's 720 points total (with 80 spare for your 16 wings between the Xiphos). Remember, torps don't kill battleships, bombers do.
  4. You can comfortably take two Xiphos (with a cruiser) and 8 wings in 800 points. The problem with dealing with the Rel battleship is you kind of have to go out of your way to account for it. Just ignoring it won't work, if you hadn't already guessed the other player is going to drive it at you and wreck your teaparty. Bombers CAN make targeted strikes, and they attack before you shoot so I really hope you see where I'm going with this. A touch more outside the box, Veydreth heavy cruisers (with bigger batteries) clock in at 270 for a full squadron, and pack some gross torps sub 24" range.
  5. Movement seems to be the biggest hold up in our games, a Battleship takes a few seconds once you've decided where you're going but large squadrons really lag the game up.
  6. Between Bigger Batteries and being a 'budget' interceptor platform the Hasta really helps with covering one of the Sorylians major weaknesses, which is dealing with SRS.
  7. Another benefit to fighters movement besides total range is that they can maneuver around enemy PD to get to their target, remember you can pre-measure everything then just fly around the 4".

  9. If you go back to the original list, two sets of three cruisers, you can split them into a squadron of 4 cruisers and 2 as accompaniments for the cruiser itself.
  10. Well I have 10 of the buggers, I think next time I'll run all of them maybe from reserve. As for the Plumbata, Scout is pretty cool but from turn 1 onwards I've always found myself wishing I'd just taken frigates.
  11. They're not exactly inspiring, but honestly I can't imagine anyone goes out of their way to field squadrons on any Tier 3 ship.
  12. We have quite a few now playing down in the Scunthorpe area, but I'm looking to move up Sunderland way soon enough.

Take your pick of 6/2 or 4/4 (bombers/interceptors or bombers/bombers, I think I favor the latter) and you come out at 46HP, 4 activations and scout shenanigans.
