  1. I will make multiple lists for different point levels and bring all my traders and maybe a few terrans to help flush things out a bit. i would like to face the aquans. Never played against them before.
  2. Okay we can tentatively schedule a game this Sunday at games and stuff. Remember I haven't played in a while so I am thinking 800 or 1000 pts. As for the scenario, let's keep it on the less complicated side for this one.
  3. Thank you all for the compliments. It was a fun fleet to put together. Ryjak, sorry for the delay in responding to you. Lost my main computer right after I finished the fleet. I am free next Sunday, the 15th.
  4. Okay I am call this project complete. Here are some pictures of my Trader fleet. I am going to add a few more cruisers for carrier accompaniment. Thank you all for the compliments and encouragement. It was a long haul but it feels good seeing it all done. Now to get it blown away on the battlefield.
  5. Reformer Battle station in progress painting. All that is left to do is decals, windows and lights. Very soon I am going to get the light box out and take good photos of the whole fleet together.
  6. Okay so I am about to put paint on the station. Here are a few pictures. I could have added details forever but just have to call it and move on. Just a bit of filing and primer should go on this weekend, if I can find the time.
  7. So I think I have finished up the top of the station. Ugh I hate ultra close up photos. It shows me all the gap filling I am going to have to do.
  8. Nuck Fewton: No its not bad to wish there were other fleets without kits, I wish this myself. Thanks for the compliment I have not gotten to work on the station as much as I have wanted to. Here is a picture of the top getting its details. I am still not sure about the turrets on top so I am waiting till last to see if I want more turrets or not.
  9. Ryjak: the render of the reformer battle station has 3 tiers of turrets for each arc, (each having double barrels) on the top and bottom. For a total of 24 turrets. I am only putting 8 on top and 8 on the bottom. I think because these are actual turrets and the renders turrets are semi recessed it looks a bit busy. I also think it's the close up images that confer a false sense of clutter also. I tried it with only 4 turrets on top and I couldn't make it look right. It just didn't convey the battle station vibe to me. Trust me once this is painted up it's going to look fine. Project update: all ships are painted to the same level (just need some osl lighting). The battle station got most of the superstructure built on the top and bottom areas. Working on small fiddly bits such as antenna clusters, small buildings, windows, vents etc.. then I will declare the top and bottom done and move onto the docking areas and mid sections. No picture tonight phone died.
  10. That color scheme is great. And I particularly love the modding the models, would have never thought of cutting down the ring like that. Makes me want to get my omnidyne together and painted.
  11. Okay I think I am going to do something like this for the top and bottom of the station. The flat space on the top of the station will be covered in small antennas and structures, to give it some textures.
  12. On my wishlist: Electronic Warfare SRS (wild weasel). Possible Cyberwarfare for fleets that don't have cyberwarfare. Also could have a mine sweeping rule, so a 50/50 chance to deactivate the mine or maybe delay detonation for a turn.
  13. Okay I will try this again. A couple ideas for SRS: 1. Reduce the Radius of the interceptors PD bubble (this might be the easiest but probably not the most effective) 2. Remove the PD value from bombers, remove AD value from Fighters A.) Interceptors and fighters PD is reduced to 1 B.) Give Fighters a "dogfighting" rule that grants a +1 or +2 against other SRS C.) increase the interceptors PD bubble by 1 or 2 inches. (so 7 or 8 inches, so reduced PD but can possibly cover more ships) D.) Fighters are allowed to be out of command distance for 1 turn or maybe even increase their range E.) Each SRS has a mission now, fighters to sweep space clear of other SRS, Bombers for anti-ship offense, and interceptors "intercepting" things Just some ideas. I would probably give all escorts a +1 PD value or something else that makes them useful again. Haven't really thought about the problem much. Just coming back to the game after a break. But my main focus is to fix the problem without effecting the other parts of the game.
  14. Ryjak: I agree. It is too cluttered that way. I think I have come up with a design that will work well. (funny enough in a dream) BrdingPrty: Thank you. The prospector engines are plastic tubes that syringes go into. I just cut them down to fit. (I liked them because they had a narrowing end like an engine) But if I had to recreate them it would be easy. I would use 7/16" (11.1mm) styrene tubing for the main part, then step down one size to 3/8" (9.5mm) tubing. I uploaded a picture to help illustrate; the lower tube is the syringe case and the upper one is the styrene modeling tube. the red lines are just where I would cut. You don't get the angled edge on the modeling tube but you could get almost the same effect by carefully angling the end of the tube. The turrets I have been using come from Shapeways. The double turrets: Double turrets And triple turrets: Triple Turrets Point defense turrets: Point defense I would suggest waiting for a shapeways sale, these parts can be expensive. And if you have a choice always get it print in high detail smooth acrylic. If it says it has a rough texture it will be a pain to paint.
