  1. Look guys I know writing rules takes time and I don't expect stats for every ship in every fleet right away. But it's been almost 3 months since the game came out, I've played several dozen games with the 2-player starter models, I'd like to play more games but I'm burnt on using a tiny fleet of three different ships results and I'm sure i'm not alone. Even if all you give us is stats for ships in the standard patrol fleets for now, we NEED more choices for taskforce to not die on the vine...
  2. This is getting ridiculous. SUPPORT YOUR GAMES SPARTA!! I'm trying to convince my FLGS to carry the game, but after he carried Uncharted Seas, only to see it not supported in favor of Firestorm Armada, then support for that got dropped for Dystopian Wars, he has become extremely cautious regarding carrying their product. For a game store owner to want to carry a game there needs to be regular releases and RULES SUPPORT. No FLGS wants to stock a product that isn't being added to regularly (to encourage sales to existing customers), and isn't being routinely supported rules-wise (to keep people playing which draws in new players). We are nearing the one month mark since the starter released. Dozens of rules questions have been left unanswered and there is little indication as to whether they will even make their next release date. While it's far to early to start declaring a repeat of past experience, this apparent stonewalling of customers by Spartan is troubling to game stores. Add to that the obvious competitor for the scale and genre in DzC I am often asked by him why he should carry Planetfall as apposed to DzC.
  3. We have been reading Los as totally reciprocal because any other method could in the future lead to what can only be described as nonsense. i.e. "My line of light skimmers makes it so your buggies can't see my enormous leviathan, but it can see the buggies." Any reading like that seems to be idiotic, maybe that makes our way a house rule though idk.
  4. Actually I don't accept "busy" as an excuse. It' sorta like buying a car; if I buy a car and the windows don't work and the break kept going out, then I'd take it back in. If they said, "we sold so many that we're really busy..." I wouldn't accept that as an excuse not to fix or resolve the issues with mine.

  6. Apparently the file limit includes replies... anyone know a way to post more photo's?
  7. Here's my stuff that I've been using to teach the game and give demo's with. It may take several posts given the file limit... Aquan stuff.
  8. That's how I read it too. Hopefully that means sometime down the road we'll see core helices for minor powers, as I play Kedorians in the FSA and would very much like to have ground forces for them without having to take a major power that's options are being hamstrung by their presence.
  9. Most of the other readings of this rule are due to fears that infantry are pretty vulnerable for the turn they're in the open. But I think that's intentional, since those infantry are invulnerable while their transport is alive (until it explodes) and are tough as nails inside a building. It seems important that they need to be in the open in between embarkments.
  10. Before this turns into too much of a hate thread I want everyone to know my original post was a bit of constructive criticism. Not an attempt to flame the game. I've had a lot of fun with the games I've played so far. I just don't want the game to flounder early because stores and new customers feel ignored or blocked from information. The game is very good though. I really want it to do well.
  11. It is frustrating. It's hard to convince my FLGS owner to plan on carrying the game when the people I have gotten interested in the game are unwilling to commit to ordering a core helix until they see some rules so they know which faction(s) play to a style they they'd like. I don't even necessarily need full ORBATS (though of course I'd like them), but enough so people can get a feel for the upcoming core's and put in a request with our local store for Core Helices so he knows how many of what to order and can see the demand and feel it's worth carrying.
  12. So I decided to post this as a new thread seeing as the last ORBATS thread has gotten monolithic and veered far off topic. I hope whoever is on vacation or not around to put up the ORBATS for the armies is back soon. I've painted up everything from the two player starter and taught about 10 people at my FLGS how to play. Everyone has looked at my models, or the ones online and is super excited to play, but when they ask how the other armies play, the mysterious answer "no one knows" only seems to irritate them a lot.
  13. So I'm a little perplexed by the examples 2ed rule book and since my search didn't turn up an answer on here I figured I'd throw up a topic for it. Here's the issue: All the pictures on page 53 appear to be "in coherency" as the rules describe it. Every ship is within 6" of at least one other ship in the squadron, yet examples B and C say they aren't, and in fact seem to suggest that all ships must be within C.D. of ALL other ships in the squadron. So which is the correct reading?
