  1. I've continued to buy up helixes to flesh out my Aquan, Directorate, Relthoza and Terran armies, as well as adding new armies for Dindrenzi and Sorylians which are in the construction phase. Only opponent I have left is my son though. ......when Planetfall returns (if...) I will be ready to hit the ground running......
  2. Likes: That you are sharing plans. Thanks Pinpoint change LOS change - any part of base always had the wrong feel Scenarios very welcome, we always end up with straight line up fights Dislikes: Hard target 1 when moving flat out - feels wrong for medium and large vehicles when they're really pretty big targets Shooting hit bonus for not moving - it's really powerful and encourages a static game. Negative hit modifier on overwatch - means it's rarely worth using Overall comment: Previous announcements made me think this was a radical overhaul to make the game much quicker and slicker. I was imagining 'halo' type changes, with special dice and card's , or a 'taskforce' type approach. This feels more like tweaking the existing game.....
  3. My errors in the comments guys - only my second game - however, I did have a more experienced Spartanophile as an opponent so I think we got it right on the night....
  4. CONTINUED FROM PART 1 My heavy helix advances, reducing the Aquan command squad from 2 down to 1 Sedna heavy skimmers - these fellas are tough! Directorate Patriot light infantry hold the central objective building on overwatch. My Desolator Command heavy crawler moves out to take on the Aquan heavy helix, and regrets it..... The Locatu tank hunters move in and bring him down. Disorder checks and knock on effect from this loss were a game changer, spelling doom for the Directorate. Some mid game overviews Despite weight of fire from the advancing Directorate heavy helix the Aquans command Sedna holds onto it's last damage point - denying me 11 tactical value points - curse those shields..... The Works Raptor recon helix bit off more than it could chew and was hunted down and destroyed to the last man. We ended at the end of turn 3 as the Aquans hit 'planetfall' at -2 on their tracker. But the Directorate were on a roll - if only we'd lasted into turn 4, we could have turned the tables - next time fishies! Lots of models, dice and fun - happy days Steve
  5. Not really a proper battle report - but thought i'd share some pics. The venue is Firestorm Games in Cardiff, 50+ tables and a shop in central Cardiff, just behind the central railway station. Deployment - my Directorate core helix on the right flank opposite Mike's Aquan heavy helix, my Heavy helix in the centre ground opposite his core, leaving our allies to face off on the left flank. Lines are drawn. Early recon fighting over central objective buildings - the Imanzis took a pounding. Mike's Sedna command skimmers occupied the central ground dishing out damage and soaking up fire all game. Early game struggles for central objective buildings. Locatu tank hunters in the woods - I'll be more cautious approaching these guys in our next game! Works Raptor recon allies speeding between buildings and turning Aquan Lamanas to molten slag with their CQB fire.... The Informer buggies in the foreground hold an objective building. The second squadron of Informers is moving out to bathe the woods in flame thrower fire as it ignores cover - they left their own objective building once the infantry arrived to take over. Sadly, I underestimated the Locatus and return fire almost wiped the squadron out.... A Terquai temportal portal cheekily skydrops in next to my home objective building - Nabis heavy infantry battle suits pour out.... The Nabis successfully storm the objective building throwing my surviving light infantry out and into the adjacent building. Annoying, but really cinematic.... CONTINUED IN PART 2
  6. Players: Munkipoo / MikeH Points Value: 3000 Factions: Directorate vs. Aquan Starting Zero Hour: 30 Zero Hour Score: 15 / -2 (Directorate very nearly took 11 for the Aquan command squad, which would have made it 4/-2 .... next time fish face!) Turn Count: 3 full turns
  7. Good progress Mike - looking forward to seeing this beastie in the flesh. Steve
  8. A few shots of my Directorate's maiden outing - thanks to our local Vanguard MikeH for ably guiding us through a great game...... still can't believe that Aquans can shoot round corners!!
  9. Did the same - a second Proteus set and the scenery one box. Happy days
  10. Saturday's are not the best for me, but it's in the diary and I'll hopefully be there Steve
  11. Nice to see Firestorm hosting some 10mm sci fi, as my work is based in Cardiff. Mike is giving me my fist game tomorrow if all pans out well (pending family illness). I have painted Directorate forces from Proteus Prime plus a heavy helix and allied works Raptor recon helix which I finished this morning. I do like 10mm !! If I knew how I'd post a couple of pics.. Steve

    Hawker test

All the panels suits a light or white colour - very cinematic. Been reading that all the fleets and the rules are going to get an overhaul - happy days -
