  1. My Spur was done in Martha Stewart brand pearl white. It came out awefully silver though so I did some blending with a high gloss white on the high areas. The Judgment was done with just a straight gloss white. You can see iy doesn't have the pearl luster to it.
  2. I played around with the carrier/cruiser combo as a shunt bomb. I worked well, but it's pretty pricey to put in reserves. I'd go with the Tormentors if you're looking to creep forward. Their cyber attacks can cripple ships for the rest of the fleet to take out while you're advancing and they're a lot more durable then the cruisers while you're in close. No as much direct damage capability, but at least with these the carrier doesn't need to decloak to reach it's full potential. Plus once you're in close enough the ability to target PD will help your SRS immensely.
  3. Overseers are one of the best carriers in the game. With their ability to always remain cloaked and decent stats (plus awesome accompaniment options) they're very potent. I'll second, or third maybe fourth? what others have said about the heavy cruisers. Those an Overseer with 6 wings, 2 Tormentors and possibly the extra AP will walk all over other tier 1 groups through boarding ability and with some other good support they're very difficult to counter. 2 carriers... Can work, but you're probably better off going another route. I'd probably go with an Anarchist/Overseer combo if you want two ships that can bring decent SRS.
  4. Service guarentees citizenship. I highly recommend the SYFY serires Killjoys as an example of a Directorate society. A mega corp controls everything in their area, no one seems to know anything about other areas, pleasure worlds for the upper crust and strip mined wastes for the rest. If your family members hold a company position on one of those "wastes" planets for 7 generations the 7th geners get "citizenship" and a small tract of land on a more hospitable planet. The only real way to hold any positions like that seem to military/local police service, typically for life. Of course even the 7th gens wouldn't become anything more then farmers or manufacturers themselves and have no chance of becoming "upper management level". Couple the uneducated, but incentivised masses with the fact that the Directorate sells to everyone, Dindreazi/RSN and others within the Zenian league of course, but also through subsidaries to an race or faction (Omnidyne being the prime example). Of course weapons and war materials are the obvious choice, but along with that they also provide just about anything you can imagine. Food stuffs, medical supplies, entertainment tech, bio and mechinical expertise, etc... Of course having a "hidden" society blanketed by their allies they're free to do pretty much as they please without fear of retribution.
  5. If you got a single Tormentor Blister, first good for you those are hard to find, and second just grab the new Tormentor box set and a carrier. That way you can field a full squad of Tormentors and a 2 ship carrier squad or have enough for a full carrier squad and potentially a second if you decide to grab a second carrier for large games. (They're fraking awesome so... yeah )
  6. Which hazard/corrosion markers do you roll for first? The self inflected or the caused? Because there is noting in there about an order of operation for rolling repairs they can just roll on the self inflected first in hopes that the ship dies to deny your battle log gain.
  7. It helps to keep some repair shuttles nearby when you plan on capturing a ship. If it's sitting at 0 CP after you capture it it will be really easy to take back, but if you recrew the ships afterwards there is little chance they'll be able to retake it unless they have a heavy boarding squadron nearby (I'd just scuttle it if you're in such a spot).
  8. Yeah Dindrezni are listed as DNS, which is kinda funny because I work for DNS lol. (different DNS mind you) Some factions are more fluid though, My Directorate are DSS (Directorate Security Systems LLC) for example, but if you wanted to you could really call your ships pretty much whatever you want no matter the faction.
  9. Oh yeah, I run Direcotrate/Oroshan and have some Omnidyne for S&G. You can make some killer lists with those fleets, especially if you're into boarding at larger point sizes but the Oroshan can add some nice punch in a heavy gun line too.
  10. Yup it's a nightmare. I still haven't painted mine and I got it with the 2.0 preorder deal.... I ended up breaking all of mine and gluing the tops and bottoms separately. I've got to do some green stuff work to clean them up though because they still didn't line up perfectly. I'm going to try and mould some docking ports or something to try and cover up the joins. Well eventually... :/
