  1. I have one of those, and it does need either pinning or basing.
  2. Obviously, you're going to use linked to reroll your misses, and your opponent is going to use moving target to make you reroll your hits. As you can only reroll any particular dice once, and critical rolls cannot be rerolled, it would depend on the different conditions for which dice are affected
  3. Most of the range can be used as "counts as" models. FSA infantry/bikes/jetpacks work just fine as Union, Lawmen or Confederate units. The EoBS ambassador can easily use legions models as her outlaw retinue. Antarctic bots can fill in for enlightened reanimated.
  4. I figured this would be the case. I was guessing that specific combinations of its rules, options, and upgrades could be easily transferred to "older" hulls. Background-wise, I see it as the Elector is the PI's "Imperial Battleship" and the others are "regional" and/or SDF hulls, that the shipyards are too proud/stubborn to decommission. So, for example, the Kaiser Karl would still be a common sight with the Austrian Navy.
  5. For "tutorial" games, remove the 4, and one of the 2s from the action deck, then divide the rest evenly between both sides.
  6. @RuleBritannia The majority of fleets would seem to be along the lines you've mentioned. Note that for the nations with skimmer ships, the "skimming" component generally takes up the equivalent of a hardpoint. For example, look at the French: Lyon (torpedoes, broadsides) and Alma (turret, skimming) Dieppe (torpedoes, turret, broadsides) and Marseilles (skimming, turret, broadsides) The Magenta doesn't exactly follow this, as the skimming ability was originally going to be instead of the cloud generator.
  7. Given that they wanted to streamline down the number of entries, I'm assuming we'll see something equivalent to: Battleship: 3×Gunnery Turrets (2×Fore, 1×Aft) Gunnery Broadsides, Internal Shield Generator. Options: Swap Gunnery Turrets for Speerschleuder Turrets (x pts) Swap Gunnery Broadsides for Tesla Broadsides or Torpedo Broadsides (y pts) Swap 1×Turret for an External Tesla Generator (z pts). Upgrades: Heavy Battleship (xx pts. Ship gains an additional Fore Speerschleuder Turret) Siege Battleship (yy pts. Replace both fore turrets with a single Gustav Railway Cannon) Battlecarrier (zzpts. Replace 1×Fore Turret with a Tesla Bombard, and the other 2×Turrets with a single (CV6) flight deck) ...of course, I could be wrong.
  8. It looks like it still has a broadside and 3 external hardpoints, just like the other battleships, with the railway gun counting as 2. The Prussians actually have it a lot easier than some nations with consolidating multiple hulls into one entry. Basically, the 5 "slots" (6 if you want to include torpedoes/speerschleuders) are just swapping between turret/special/tesla
  9. They're the stat-cards for a specific group. Eg: the lawmen.
  10. While electronic apps are useful, I live in an area where the internet is unreliable, and having to deal with losing power for several days during wet weather (a few years ago, it took up to a month for some towns to get power fully restored after a cyclone went through north queensland.)
  11. There was mention of a platoon-scale version of WWX/DL being released "at a later date" (supposedly set where Prussia, Russia, France, etc are more relevant) In the meantime, most of the DL range can be used as "counts as" models from one faction or another. The FSA models could be either Union troops, or Confederate rebels. The EoBS has an outlaw-aligned ambassador. The Antarctic scientists could be testing out their automatons, to see if they're more reliable than the reanimated corpses normally used by the other Enlightened. Just integrate them in. The only rules currently unavailable are those for tanks and larger.
  12. So, are the Wayward 8 getting a vehicle named Serenity/Tranquility?
  13. I don't mind "important" models (flagships, etc) getting made extra pretty. It just becomes a pain to paint, if all of them get that much detail. For example, my Mississippi Sky-Reaper (I'd give you its name, but the Australian term for an AA battery is offensive) is the only ship I've given red/white/blue decorations to.
  14. Even though Dystopian Legions is too large-scale, the infantry, bikes, etc would still make a "diplomatic escort" for her (even if they just use Outlaw stats that are close enough to what is on the model)
  15. I'm guessing "no" as the focus action is done during your activation, and grit checks are generally done in your opponent's.
  16. There were typos in the rulebook. The "area bombardment" template is 1.5" (40mm) in diameter. The (purple) "energy blast" template is 2" (50mm) in diameter. The "mine explosion" template is 4" (100mm) in diameter.
  17. I just assumed the difference in cards was to do with the "personal preferences" of the character/leader in the posse, much like how Wyatt Earp's "Tombstone" posse is different to a regular lawman posse.
  18. It would be interesting. Other companies have done similar games- gw had dark future GURPs had both car wars, and (discworld) cart wars
  19. I still intend to get the new models as they come out. For the majority of my collection, I'll be reorganising the squadrons to make the warcradle versions into "squad leaders" (or the other way around, depending on what I currently own). I just think it would be a good idea (even if it's a few months after the warcradle models are released) to have components for those people who aren't so good at sculpting/conversion work available, so they can get their current collection to look like they're the correct scale. I'm prepared for some of my collection (such as my 6 DW-scale trains) to be redundant, and I can deal with it. I'm an Ork player for 40k (since 1996) and repurposing things has become second nature to me. Something I would suggest for the "new" model is having additional options in its kit, that could easily be attached to the older model (eg make it so the "new" mobile airfields have empty flight decks, and have the jump troops, gyrocopters, etc as separate elements). This means that the new model will still get bought, and veteran players can get something to unify their collections.
  20. From what I understand, the DW-scale medium tanks will become small models, and the larger models will become medium. The warcradle sculpts will have 10mm-scale hatches and ladders. The DW-scale small tanks are roughly the same size as 10mm-scale fieldguns/etc
  21. I'm hoping they make some "conversion kits" (hatches, drop-overs, etc) for the models affected by the changes in scale. The current mobile airfields will only really need either an upsized plane, or something like a gyrocopter or squad of jetpack troops, to put over the top of the planes. All of the 2-per-base tanks really only need some add-on troops to turn them into things like machine guns, mortars, bikes, etc. (The robots would work as power-armoured/enhanced troops)
  22. ...so they'll be like the CoA's drones were before the "feedback" rule was introduced. Looks like a good idea. The only amendment I would give for it would be to have the option for certain models to have "CAP" assigned (out of the available planes) during initial deployment, giving a defensive AA "upgrade" to their parent vessel, and having it so they don't get removed when used (but are permanently removed with the parent model being lost).
  23. @CDR G it looks like the most likely occurrence will be the "Geier" as we know it will become an Armoured Clash aircraft, with a new "Dystopian-scale" version as the bomber we're seeing on the ice maiden.
  24. Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to purchase some more stuff next month, after I've paid the car registration.
