I cannot support this enough. Lerriano has consistently helped promote the Ottomans, provided useful battle reports that fed into the changes, and did so without forgetting that insulting the people you want do do things for you is not a good idea.

Once people have had a chance to have a few reported games with the new Orbats, and get used to it, then their feedback becomes rather more useful than  simply writing it off the whole force on inspection.

    What staggering negativity.
How about play them, then come back with your notes. Like I did. Five times (albeit that I haven't managed to update the forum to the latter 3, 2 horrendous losses and a close draw).

This is entirely correct. Even with shredded defences on the Target vessel, other squadron members can link in to defend the model under attack, assuming all other conditions are met.

If you really want, you could even do aggressive AA or CC like this, but it isn't a good idea....

You can also find a map scale fairly easily.

Assuming WW1 level gunnery,  you get 1" on board  approximately equals  600( sorry, typo!) meters/yards, i.e. a map scale of 1:24,000 or 1:25,000.

Conveniently, this either gives us an easy model: map scale of 1:20, or the common map scale of 1:25000, so allowing you to fight over real maps if you want!

This also means you can get a length of turn, which comes out at about 6 minutes.

I'm not saying these numbers are right, but they are certainly sensible, credible, and round enough to be easy to remember.

Bunnahabhain got a reaction from Wolfchild in Where to measure Bomb Bay range from?
Assuming you are using digi-admiral page numbers, page 65 does NOT have a 2" range stated for bombing, as it does not state any range at all.

On the other hand,  page 54 has this to say:

    Bombs
Bomb Ordnance from Models has a 360 degree Fire Arc. It has a 2" range, measured from any point of the Base.

Therefore, when you found out the range of the bombs, you also found where to measure from. The Rulebook explains this perfectly clearly, and the first answer you received was correct.

    Redoubtable:
If NO Weapon/Statistic is listed, the Redoubtable MAR is applied to ALL weapons and statistics on the Model where relevant.

It does not apply to carrier points, as they are not a statistic or weapon.

The fact drone launchers do not have Redoubtable ( carrier points), but instead have an explicit special rule is because redoubtable does not work on carrier points!

For the time being, just use any small naval model you think is appropriate, and not liable to confuse you.

I use some Korsor corvettes that I had under the 1.1 allies rules. As I don't have any other Danes, they are  hard to mix up with anything else!

    Several ways:
-hit them with either lots of tesla
    - hope for hard pounding crits,
-a 'softening  up' boarding action- say corvettes.

These all drop the targets AP, so you can then use a mere 6 AP to take the target, with something that it is itself immune to being prized, and is fairly much disposable.

They become a Surface Skimmer for rules purposes when flying low, so Fighters( and others)  can't AA them. It does mean they can be dive bombed or torpedeod though, so they are not immune to SAS.

Bunnahabhain got a reaction from Lerriano in Area Bombardment and multiple weapons
    OK, to clear this up....

    Rules quotes
When performing an Area Bombardment, an Initial Aiming Point is chosen within Range, Fire Arc and Line of Sight (unless using Indirect Fire) of all weapons making the Attack. ( note emphasis)

A Squadron may only have ONE Initial Aiming Point, any weapons unable to reach the Initial Aiming Point cannot make an Area
    Bombardment this Activation.

A Small Effect Template must be placed, centred on the Initial Aiming Point. Any other weapons in the Attack place Small Effect Templates touching, but not overlapping the Initial Small Effect Template, on a side determined by the Random Direction Template. ( again, note empahsis)

    --------------------------------------------------------

As you can only ever make one area bombardment attack per activation, if the attack happens to involve 2+ templates, then this brings in the scatter rules.
To make two separate area bombardments, and so avoid scattering the later templates, you'd need two separate initial aiming points.

Ok so I'm putting it in here even though its really a kind of off-topic/general chat for all - (hint an off-topic/general Spartan chat section would be great ).
Anyway figured that we've got a few here who know something about photography and others keen to learn - so here we have it. A chance to ask questions, share ideas and methods and generally share photos as well. Something that we can all join into no matter if you're using an iPhone or PhaseOne.

Infantry can  only be bought if one of the below applies.
    - If the scenario says so
    - If the squadron specifies they can ( i.e many of the recon infantry + bombard units)
    - If the model has the appropriate combat deployment or squadron support MARs

Yes, the CoA Armoured walker group is currently not 100% legal. This is the problem with trying to make logical groups out of boxes with set compositions.... It is on my 'to fix' list, although some way down, as there is not a single obvious and easy solution.
