    Thanks @clifford, they are looking quite chunky. Thanks @jcee, I am definitely not a fan of the current colours used on the Omnidyne boxes. I am a big fan of how they look in the old rule book though. Thanks @Works Raptor. Nope, I had to search for "Turanic". Definitely similar, though yellow and black on evil starships has appeared a few different places. So, I have focused my time on the Omnidyne Dreadnought and it's escorts. "Old Man" Rob will be next in my Fiction, the Dreadnought "Swift Decision" is his personal ship The Dreadnought comes apart, to give me 2 battleships So it's really just the engine/thruster energy left to go on the Omnidyne dreadnought I also got some more undercoating done And a couple of shots of my work area. I always have a bunch of stuff laid out in various stages. Things ready to clean, just Primed, ongoing. I usually get a basic Idea of a scheme before I start, then much of the details unfold as I go. Having a bunch of stuff laid out like this makes it easier for me to find inspiration Thanks for looking, likes and comments are appreciated WA

    I occasionally pop back, look things over. I've got well over 300 Firestorm ships, several friends with multiple sizeable fleets too. To say we are invested in Firestorm Armada would be an understatement in the extreme. We want to be able to play the up to date version of Firestorm Armada, but between the lost focus when Taskforce and Halo came out (dampened enthusiasm because we felt "our" game was condemned to be back-burnered) and now the concerns over such sweeping rules changes as have been explained in such an isolated, difficult to translate, manner... Honestly? We're all beyond pessimistic.

    Hi Xerkics, The Core Nation model images will be shown during the campaign. We did this for DW Core Nations and it worked well for us and I am happy with this method. If this doesn't suit all folk, I am sure they'll grab the models post KS in retail. We know what the Expansion models are and how they'll play out - but as I stated, they will be download stats and if you all think we got them wrong we can adjust. Given timings on the KS the rulebook will have time to be reviewed, finalised and printed for folk. We are already making amends to the rules based on the feedback we have additionally gathered. Our statistics are downloads, not printed, so are not date affected, and hence don't affect the KS. And with these community feedback is important. Timing - well we're in August already and we have a lot of things to do with FA. We're playing catch up with FA and DW, and whilst lots of things are underway we need to get it done. And doing things before the end of the year is important for me personally. Cheers, Neil

    Oh I love the trick with the dreadnought. The paint job is pretty spiffing, too. Are those some of the nice art deco syndicate ships with undercoat on? Looking forwards to seeing what you do with those.

    @Spartan Neil Is it possible to give a brief dot point version of some of the rules you may be reconsidering? A disclaimer stating that although you are reconsidering the "mechanic/rule" in question, it may not alter is a fair and expected addition. Some examples: Improved Thrusters, are you considering a name change and an additional line about ignoring intervening terrain to retain the "lore/theme" of Relthoza? Removing the Full Stop order for the Command Orders and allowing that to be done as a general ability? Cloaking, though I suppose the more pertinent question is what level of reconsidering being done here?

    To be honest: not one! I own at least one of every ship produced (to market) for this game....and in a few situations paid a pretty penny to wrestle rare OOP models from their previous owners (yes I was ripped off okay....but an obsession is an obsession!). Now I can't wait for my Admiral pledge and the expansion packs. Must add some new shelves to the games room soon.

    I've honestly tried to keep the flame locally And yeh the kickstarter this early and as @reddwarf says the little things....are things people care about and they're hard to sell I don't have a working product to put in their hands to get some test games to get some non theory feedback We're gonna get 3.0 eventually without fan fare or enthusiasm and I don't think it will be 'good enough' no ones feeling it and the way things are going theres nothing to build a lot of enthusiasm I am holding onto lots of feedback and communication - that either bad things will be changed or are not as bad as we think once the whole big picture comes together - but it's an uphill struggle and given all I'm seeing I think 3.0 won't re-ignite interest, but smother it

    I dare say that after adding thirty pounds for postage, not-Europe people won't consider a Saurian Battle Station as grabbable "easily at a great price". On ship news, just keep the current range in production and don't "update" the style so that new ships look wrong compared to 2.0 stuff. Also, no more scale creep causing increasingly larger ships. That's more important than any older stuff coming back. After that's ensured, bring the old Sorylian ships back. Before they got lumpy and hideous.

    Hi Guys, Just to be clear with this. 3.0 is not locked and we are evaluating your comments and some rules will be changed and your feedback embraced, be it Cloaks, Battle Shunt and so on. I have defined a number of changes in the rules and additions to the game I have requested. Not all are going to sit comfortably with all players, but while some of you think your comments are being ignored, I am telling you here that this is not the case. Additionally, I have already said that the full rules will be handed out for folk to play with before I print any books. There has been some good feedback and it has been clear that some of my rule changes have needed more consideration/tweaking with their impact. Cheers, Neil

    Hi Guys, Just seen this thread. Nice idea for discussion. Sniddy - agreed on the Medusa. We stopped that model because of manufacturing complexities, but it would be most cool to bring it back.     Okay, so this is my last post before GenCon, it really is time for radio silence. Thanks for sticking through this guys, your ideas and feedback have been a great help here*. We've got several things to work out with cloaks as well as other mechanics. Just wanted to let you know that you've been heard, and to tune back in after GenCon. I hope to have news to share then.     Playing relthoza is what I do because of the tactics with turning cloack on and off at certain points in game. if you weaken cloacks or if they can turned off and on just remove the whole core fleet. Be very carefull what you do with cloacks just wanting less half dice is the worst possible reason to eliminate a whole core faction. very bad idea!!

    Anarchist vs Judgement a lot is getting bandied about, looking at the fleet guide however gives actual facts/data. -Slow and unwieldy: Base Judgement, Mv6, TL2 Base Anarchist, Mv7, TL2 Upgraded Judgement, Mv6-8, TL1 Upgraded Anarchist, Mv7-8, TL2 Judgement can become TL1, Anarchist cannot, this compliments the Judgement's weapons. Anarchist more likely to be faster by an inch owing to build priorities. At worst, at absolute worst its equal with Anarchist in terms of mobility due to TL upgrade, so claiming the Judgement is slothful also defines the Anarchist as slothful. -One weapon It actually has 2, that can link for equal to best in class AD across 20" of range (16-18AD). Or fire them unlinked at Mediums, the issue is lack of Bio coherency on both, v3 is addressing double degrading. -Takes huge chunks of damage easily. Base Judgement, SH1, DR6, CR11 Base Anarchist, SH2, DR6, CR11 Upgraded Judgement, SH2, DR6, CR11 Upgraded Anarchist, SH2 or 1, DR6, CR11, Stealth at the cost of shields Statistically identical or has superior damage mitigation in its primary RB's but doesn't possess Stealth, again a wash, if the Judgement takes large chunks of damage easily the statistically identical Anarchist does to. -Worse Apollo An Apollo has guns that's it, take away the guns of both ships and what do they do? An Apollo shoots torps slightly better than a Judgement. A Judgement with no guns. Shoots torps of iffy value, lays mines, can continue to provide support with SRS utility. The Judgement costs 160pts base. The Anarchist 190pts base. Throw on +1SH, -1TL, +2 SRS. The Judgement now costs 205pts can turn sharper than the Anarchist has the same DR, CR and SH of the Anarchist and is bringing 3 Interceptors or Shuttles to the fleet. Meanwhile the Anarchist starts at 190pts, and only goes up, 205 if you use the base 3 SRS. The Judgement needs its torps adjusted, and coherency with weapons addressed. But it is not the original v2 BB that everyone hated, please stop glossing over the notable rework it gained partway through v2.

    /puke Focused Fire is....well, I can't describe how much I hate it without getting banned from the boards. And now they make specialists that use it every single shot? Did they learn *nothing* from Planetfall. PLAYERS DON'T LIKE FOCUSED FIRE. IT SUCKS IN PLANETFALL AND IT WILL SUCK IN ARMADA. There's Planetfall threads where the designers admit that Focused Fire is broken and needs to be fixed, but then they port it into another system? And give a work-around for one of the few usage restrictions? ARGH! I try to be positive, but this is just terrible.

Not a great picture with them on top of a red box lid, but it is what it is: The Metzger with the Banner is the "Command" Metzger I mentioned in the first post. EDIT: Here is the completed Apollo Count-as model. Both this, and the Cruiser model are away at the printers now, so Should get them within the week.

    It's weird. In my opinion the "big things" like movement, fire mechanics, and wings (basic game mechanics) are moving in the right direction (notable exception--Command Orders). But so many "little" things strike me as wrong, and/or hugely faction altering for no real gain that it's hard. Kinetic, Pinpoint, Cloaking, Boarding, Ambush, Shunting, Primary/Secondary/Tertiary...they keep adding up. Don't worry Spartan, I'll still try 3.0. Just feeling pessimistic I guess.

    You guys know the community doesnt like planetfall why conver a system with a better ruleset into one thats worse? Some of the changes you are making make no sense it just feels you are making changes for the sake of changing them when the previous ruleset had just minor flaws that needed to be addressed. IF it aint broke dont fix it. Firestorm already had the best rule set out of all the other systems Spartan used it doesnt need to be more like them thats taking a step back . I mean just look at the red blue dice its ridiculous.Or replacing a rather simple tac cards system with command orders rather than just expanding the tac cards you are over complicating far too much when you should have just been streamlining existing ruleset. I still havent seen an explanation why the cloaking rules which worked just fine needed to be destroyed which will require restating all cloaking ship from ground up unless you want them to be the new Sorylians of 3.0

    If the Kinetic rule stands, then I don't thjink I'm going to be bothering with bringing V3 up in my group. We've not been paying for about a year, what's another few? V21 Terrans could have some uphill fights with Dindrenzi since they had more range and firepower, but you powered forward with your shields sectored, and hoped for some hot rolls. Now, since their basic weapons that they pay nothing extra for are going to help bypass the primary defense that Terrans pay a lot of points to have, There's room on my shelf beside my Planetfall stuff for the Fleet. And I could use he carry case for other things these days. I just have no interest in going into what feels like a stacked situation every time I play. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll just be raining shields on Terran ships, and a cruiser can have up to 4-5 shields. But I doubt it.

    Counterpoint with mild snark above. Maths and numbers balance, maybe the described Kinetics are palatable, but the case being made here is using the primary justification for this is theme and lore based. Theme/lore is one thing but the argument comes off as biased. Furthermore before someone mentions Nukes, no nukes are not the answer as the game numbers clearly counter that aspect, Nukes require equaling/exceeding CR, something the Dindrenzi are known to have high numbers in (rightfully so), so Nukes are not the thematic counter-argument here as the design mechanics and direction of nukes in no way lends itself to having extra efficacy against Dindrenzi. Nukes thematically based on background written work for Terrans, they also don't specifically target a faction (unlike v3 railguns), in fact their efficacy against the Zenian side is questionable when you account for the wider picture (Dindrenzi and Directorate have superior CR, Relthoza have cloak and stealth). The entire thematic premise of "railguns weaken shields because the Dindrenzi specifically have it in for the Terrans" completely ignores the other side of the thematic divide you are escalating here with this approach. So arguing from a theme basis: Where is the Terran themed quirk that is geared specifically at combating Dindrenzi because, "Thematically, the Dindrenzi Terrans have it out for the Terrans Dindrenzi."
